Keypad was dead on ours. No power. Left power cable unplugged for about 10 minutes. No luck. Left unplugged for over a day, plugged in, works fine so far. Thanks so much for the video!

I just saved $500 by watching this video. Thank you!! By the way, you don't need to disconnect any other wires. The entire fix is less than 5 minutes

Removed as instructed and cleaned ribbon contact with vinegar on napkin. It didn’t work the first time I reseated the ribbon. But it worked the second time! Maybe I didn’t reseat it properly the first time. Thanks for great video and saving me money!

I made the adjustment to the ribbon. I couldn't unplug the 2 connections next to it so I left those plugged in. It worked for about a half hour then the keypad short warning went off again. Is it important to unplug all the connections? I'm asking of course because I didn't
@raymondromero28407 ай бұрын
I would definitely unplug all to make sure.

I didn't need to remove all of the wires, I just slid the ribbon out (WoMaanual mentions using white vinegar to clean ribbon and I wish I had read that before putting the unit back together, it's probably a good idea). I think this occured due to the fact that we are waiting on warranty repairs of our on demand water heater, I was heating hot water for dishwashing on my stove, and didn't turn on the vent. This repair worked, but the next morning when I came out to the kitchen I had the same problem. I don't know if there is a glue on the ribbon that melted or not.

Yes so some one else said that they had the same issue. After using the stove under the micro to heat the house because they lost power. I recommended using electrical grease or silicone, because it is sorta greasy and sticky they haven't ran into the issue again and it's been some months now. But I did let them know to use electrical cleaner prior to applying the silicone.

I'm wondering if anyone discharged the capacitor before disconnecting? My MW has lots of warnings and the capacitor in mine says it's 2100 volts. Is this safe to do with out discharging it?

I didn’t take mine apart yet but it seems to me mine starts acting up if you cook something on the stove, especially something steamy and not run the vent fan at the same time. I’ll usually unplug for several days and it comes back to life but not this last time it didn’t. I can get it to work for one thing (heating, turn on vent fan, etc) and then it goes bonkers after a minute and I have to unplug it and let it sit for a day before it works again. Anyone else have the same problem?
