It never ceases to amaze me at how nasty people let these machines get before they give them the attention that they need. These machines are great but they do require more care than a regular washer and dryer. I clean my lint filter after every load and everything inside that area including the coil still looks brand new.

The maintenance is not a lot more than separates. I had to clean my dryer filter after every load, not to mention the dryer vent system once or twice a year. Just cleaning the filter after every load and the pump drain once a month this unit will stay clean.

​@@maf11300 Not with this machine. It is recommended to clean the filter after the notification or once a week or every 2 weeks depending on usage. This is not a standard dryer. We have done extensive testing on the airflow with a clean filter and one after 12 loads. The airflow was the same, the amps sis not increase on the blower and the clothes were dry. It is extremely important to clean the filter tracks, upper, lower and rear EVERY time you pull out the filter. Lint / Debree will drop off the filter and fall onto the rails. If you do not vacuum the rails each time, you will push the lint to the rear and ultimately onto the Coil / Condenser. Out kits stop 99% of lint from getting by the filter. I clean the lint out every wash. Mine has never looked like that. My machine will be a year old in September.

Thank you for the video. I started to get the 353-fault code. Called GE and they had to send out a GE certified technician. They had to replace a part. It took the technician about 4-5 hours. The technician ran the machine to get it to reset. After it finished, I got the fault code 354. We ran a small load of laundry and now will not go into drying mode and giving the error code 353. I cleared the fault code and tried to run another small load. Again, stopped after the washing of the clothes. Would not go to drying and fault code 354. Now we have a really expensive washing machine.

The error code F354 is for Compressor discharge thermistor reading out of range. Run Service Mode test 15, "Heat Pump System Test," to full completion. Verify thermistor readings are in spec. (see Test 15 description). • Check compressor discharge thermistor harness connections. • Check compressor discharge thermistor resistance. Validate resistance matches Heat Pump (HX) Thermistor Resistance Table. so it looks like thermistor that needs to be replaced or the tech missed it when putting everything back together.

The wet vac is genius! I stupidly didn’t get a pedestal and have to put a plate under the filter door with a folded microfiber I wring out a couple times to deal with the water that comes out. It’s fine to do 4 times a year or so but I’ll switch to the wet vac that looks easier.
