I spent a week going back and forth looking, comparing watching reviews on AC units on KZbin unfortunately not enough are very helpful and thorough. UNTIL I came across your on this unit. And therefore I thank you so much because of your video I now have the 8000 btu on my window, installed it today, I am ready for summer! Love your video

I just bought this AC (not because of this vid - but found this vid while trying to fix a light rattling sound which I fixed by loosening a screw) and I am already in love with it. It's the first window unit I have that I feel like I can record while having it on. 5/5 air conditioner

I literally came to this video, b/c I'm having buyer's remorse after buying 2 of the 8k BTU versions of this unit. Back story: Tuesday evening I went to Home Depot and bought an LG 10K BTU unit w/ a some smart crap Thin Q something wi-fi bs. I installed it, it was more quiet than this one, but it blew nothing but hot air, from the 90 degree room I was installing it in. I immediately boxed it back up and returned it. So instead of exchanging it for something else they had, I just came home and looked online. I went to 3 other stores and found this model at the last 2, so I bought 2 units, b/c my HVAC is working overtime & about to die. Back in 2020 I bought a GE 5K BTU b/c my 20+ y/o HVAC unit was acting up. Finally fixed it, but this year, I think it's about to cross that bridge to cost me a lot of money. This video & your comment make me a little more at ease. Thanks!

I forgot to add, when I originally purchased this unit in May 2018 I almost purchased the 8000 BTU unit, but this was in stock and the 8000 BTU needed to be shipped. It wasn't too long, but I wanted it installed in my studio where I film various videos asap as I needed a quiet unit asap. So glad I did now! I do have a feeling you might have gotten a lemon 🍋, but who wants to be pulling units in and out of windows repeatedly!😝

FANTASTIC! That's exactly why I purchased it for my filming studio and immediately shared it with others!😊 Now, I have two other larger AC units to review that I've had for a while in the business studio for HOUSE OF BORGIA™ (premium, professional, custom painted artistry of sneakers and other shoes, freehand painted, reuseable nails 💅, custom painted purses, bags and accessories, and other custom painted fashions for all) and another new quiet, energy efficient unit, in a completely different style of window AC unit, for the other studio! The unit in this video still works, though! Hopefully, I'll be back on KZbin regularly soon, and will film and upload the new videos of the two newer units well before next summer! I actually might do it soon as I saw one go for a great discount during last winter, and I've had them for several seasons and bought a second of one of them this past spring (2024), but I'll give all the details in the vids!

What about them? I have curtains, not blinds. It doesn't affect my curtains, but that would depend upon your curtains. I have two new units I will be reviewing soon! One 15,000btu HUGE unit and one 12,000btu that allows you to open the window without it affecting the unit. I've tested them for a full season this time. This unit is still working great, it's just in a different location now.

I know you can turn off the lights, but I don't remember about the sound. I have new quiet units I'll be reviewing where that one and another one were. That unit (still working great) is in a different room that I don't go in often. It's still quiet as anything and works great, but I really don't remember about the sound. Look on the remote.

It is running right now just as good as when I bought it two years ago. I actually use it more than the average person as I have rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia and am more sensitive to humid heat. The only thing that I don't like is that they changed this 6150btu model to a 6200btu model and raised the prices on that model and the 8000btu model this year. I wish I had bought the 8000btu unit for another room before they raised it. They are very quiet and mine is still good after a lot of use though.😊 It will definitely be more energy efficient and save on your electric still though.😊We just purchased a 15000btu unit from Whirlpool for the family room that I will possibly review once it arrives.

@@dongato9191 No, it doesn't. I've never had that issue with it and it's had heavy use for 2 years. Do you clean your filter regularly? That can cause the condenser to trip. I clean mine regularly before the filter light ever goes on. I also make sure the bottom of the housing is clear of debris and/or build up when I take the filter out for cleaning. Has it always done that or is it something new? Perhaps you have a loose wire or other short that can also cause that which often can be easily solved. Are you still under warranty?

It does look exactly the same. Unfortunately two years later it also has their higher prices now. I remember comparing it to Haier when I was looking for this one and being thrilled about the quiet features with the huge price difference. I wish I had bought the 8000btu before the price increase.

The quiet version isn't available in 10,000 to 12,000btu's. I'm actually in process of shopping around for a 12,000 btu unit now for a different room and will review which one I finally choose. All the information for these units are in the description box.😊

We actually just ordered a 15,000btu Whirlpool unit to cool the large family room and kitchen so I will try to review it when it arrives this week. We were going to get the 12,000btu Whirlpool, but it was a good amount more of square footage it cooled which is good for the next place.

I have a question. If you let’s say set it to 70 Once the room is 70 will it shut off?

Yes, if you set the thermostat to a specific temperature it will cycle on and off to keep the room at that temp. It has a sensor inside of it. I actually just moved this unit out of my studio to a bedroom in early August (still works fantastic and super quiet 2+years later) and installed a new unit of another brand in my studio that is not only quiet, but the coolest AC unit I've ever seen. You can actually OPEN the window with the unit in it when you don't want the AC on. I'll be doing a review on it and the new unit in my living room soon too as well as a maintenance video on some things I learned this summer soon (I'm just returning to KZbin after an unplanned break since last December.)

I've been eyeing these and was going to buy one, but suddenly I saw them go on sale online and I threw my shoes on (didn't care if I was sick LOL :D) and we went straight to the store immediately!:D I have a Lowe's 5 min away (I'm lucky...my street is dead end with a cul de sac and very quiet, but has everything within minutes so best of both worlds...Anyway...I could have just ordered it to pick up in store, but I wanted to talk to the salesperson first. They had soooo many AC units, but these were pretty cleaned out!I managed to get one tho! I would have regardless with the free shipping, but then I wouldn't have been able to test it in time so glad I got one in time to share the review!

I hear that, Allen! Very true! It's ridiculously hot here too. Knock on wood, but this AC unit has been cranking away for both cooling and as a dehumidifier mostly on high (it automatically switches to energy saving once at a certain level) since I installed the unit right before Memorial Day because I am so heat sensitive and I am still happy with it. I plan on buying the 8000 btu unit next year because this one is so quiet and so comfortable. Lowe's it on sale again around 4th of July and probably will around Labor Day, but I don't want to buy an AC unit right before Winter because the warranty gets used up just in case. It's been SO ridiculously hot & humid this year and it's outperforming one of our bigger units! Lol, there's an antique cabinet in front of it in my studio and my female cat likes to sit on it with it blowing in face!😂😂😂 As I was typing that she jumped up and is currently doing it and she's never tried it before with any other unit....guess bc it's cool and SO quiet....so it even kitty approved lolololol😂😂😂

quiet if on fan only. the compression is loud kicking in and there is a steady "low" noise (roar) from it. I would not recommend it

You must have issues with yours as mine has never done that in over two years of heavy use and none of the other people I have talked to about it have had that issue. It's running right now on high as we're having a heat wave and has been running nonstop for months as I am extremely heat sensitive due to health issues. Sounds like you recieved a lemon. I would exchange it if you can.

@@LadyBorgia In the middle of the night, with the fan on low, I can easily hear the compressor kick in (with a low rumbling sound). if the fan is on high, then the kicking in of the compressor is somewhat masked over. Again, I would only call this one quiet if you run the fan on high, thereby creating significant white noise to mask the compressor noise. By the way, I put in a Frigidare Gallery, quiet ac, and it is much quieter even on the low fan setting. (I can barely hear the compressor kick in). thanks, Harry
