I was a consultant working at the GE Transportation plant. I understand the gray MGA paint scheme was proposed to MGA by GE, partly because it was an easy modification of the demonstrator/lease paint scheme. (And partly, I would argue, because it looks fabulous.) Long live the Western Pacific!!

Does anyone know if there is any connection to the MGA paint scheme and the GECX lease fleet of the super 7s? The sre almost identical except the nose stripe is inverted.

Hey jack, do you happen to have a northeast corridor clip of Glendale Maryland? The grade crossing or any other grade crossing?

Sorry. No I do not have any clips at Glendale, and no grade crossing on the NEC as well. I don't recall seeing any clips out there. Never gave it much thought back then.
