Gear 5 is easily the greatest transformation in shonen, the build up, foreshadowing, lore, plot twist, so many amazing things that led to this point in the story, 15 YEARS later. These 2 episodes for me were as mind blowing and transcendent as seeing SSJ on Namek as a teenager, the smiles, laughter, tears and strange sense of pride, like it was you who had achieved this form. Gear 5 is HISTORIC and will forever be ICONIC.

I love how ODA picked up excerpts and inspiration from Hindu god Hanuman. 1. When Kaido eats Luffy and he just rounds up like a ball, and 2. When Luffy literally throws the ‘Hanuman gun’, I meant the ‘Bajrang gun’ because Hanuman’s other name is Bajrang. I love love LOVED both these references!

THE WAIT WAS SO WORTH IT! I couldn't get Funimation to pull up the episode for 45 minutes before i gave up, set an alarm for like 3 am, woke up, knowing i had work at 6am, and watched the episode! And MAN WAS IT WORTH IT!!!

To this day, that punch he did at the end isy favorite Gear 5 move, and there's still more to come, but that helicopter attack floored me like I was the one getting hit when i first read it! Gear 5 is the best!
