Love the added fishing bonus. What we all love doing best. Hunting, bush craft, fishing, cook ups is what it’s all about.

Great video! Secketers and folding saw are handy as I felt silly taking gardening tools first time but they're awesome if you get a deer in a thick black berry gully

Great tip on secateurs!!! Couldn’t get to a deer last trip, spooked it commando crawling through the thick scrub... Thanks Profty for sharing your knowledge with us mere mortals.

Only downside to the water bottle vs camelback is that if you have be super sneaky the water bottles have the tendency to "slosh" . Muslin is gold also.

A sharp hatchet is probably more useful than a folding saw depending on skill with it and the terrain. Like removing branches

Yep, I use Avenza. great little app. the standard version can store 3 maps at a time but the full version has them all, costs something like $100. The State forest Rangers use Avenza on their ipads.

Used similar items quite commonly. Quite reliable, I must say! Hunted Taralga to Shooters Hill, Black Springs and Porters Retreat in the Central Tablelands some months ago. I am in Honningsvåg, Norway as of now.

Hey mate, really new to hunting, I just got my r license in nsw for bows only. I'm just wondering what state forests around nsw you might recommend for a beginner. I dont mind travelling, I just want the first hunt to be worth it. I'm mainly after goats. But I'll take anything. Sweet videos by the way

Nice one. Try chucking a small tube of super-glue in first-aid kit. Nothing closes up a big gash in an emergency better than glue.

Thanks for the video mate. Have you thought of doing a video explaining your hunting techniques such as stalking or hiding and when to do either one? That would be helpfull too. Love your work

Hey mate a little tip with game bags is buy pillow cases, there cheap as and have a tougher material and still breathable
@butchersblock45396 жыл бұрын
I'd say 2x source of light and corresponding batteries PLUS an extra blade, neck knife even. Not taking my back up knife yesterday (left primary in car after relocation of vehicle) meant another 20+ kg of shit I didn't need to carry x2 trips.... In terrible terrain. Could have avoided hucking out hooves and shit. But it is all about learning aye.

Great videos ,your getting around to covering everything ,thanks for sharing , I intend to give deer hunting a go and have been glued to your work for a few weeks now , I've checked the gov sites on deer hunting but didn't notice the gps deal , I have this iPad but I don't have a phone and I'm not sure what a gps is ,I think family gave me on with roads on it to plug into a car cigarette lighter , is there no way you can hunt state forests without the phone device, thanks if you or any other viewers could tell me
@Uiah6 жыл бұрын
GPS = Global Positioning System. Basically any device that uses satellites to track your location (including your car one). Your iPad may have GPS capabilities. Otherwise there are handheld ones you can buy. You need to load the star forest maps on so you now where yo are and stay within the boundaries.
@billwild75126 жыл бұрын
Uriah,thanks much , I have something like that it plugs in the cigarette lighter with roads on it ,I must see where it is and maybe I can enter the forests on it , I guess I'll have to get up to speed on this stuff if it's a requirement
@Uiah6 жыл бұрын
Your car-based GPS will be good for roads (maybe some bigger bush tracks) but you won't be able to load the hunting maps onto it. Check out the DPI for more info...
