Ryukishi has an incredible talent for writing a specific type of genuine gutwrenching sorrow. The way his characters react to these situations feels so stunningly real, I can only imagine he drew heavily from his own personal experiences. He perfectly translates the feeling of waking up after the worst day of your life into writing. God, it's really sobering.

And the first scene where this song plays in Watanagashi encapsulates that perfectly. Rika and Satoko are missing, Keiichi is completely devastaded, the people he cares and fears for because of his actions are slowly desappearing. The scene where he hangs by the cliff with the view of the town, and slowly looks up at the moon... that scene stuck with me since the beginning. The hopelessness, worry and being incapable of doing anything is perfectly represented in both the scene and this song that plays.

@@Juanpablofanasito850 Umineko focuses too much on making the fantasy scenes more of a tribute to the Type-Moon series, and doesn't manage to put that sorrow in Higurashi that makes you feel the character's emotion. Umineko is so bombastic in presentation, it contrasts heavily to Higurashi's quiet but strong impact in storytelling.

This is the best track in higurashi, every time I listen to it I get memories of the big “reveal moments”, how tragic they are, and it makes me want to replay them all the more.

@@Safkaish You're being silly; that's done on purpose, Umineko is meant to be more realistic with its negative characters. You probably didn't understand Umineko or finish it if you're basing it off that since you're meant to accept that but see the reasons why they're that way. Also the ending of Higurashi whilst is good is highly unrealistic whereas Umineko is more realistic as it uses deceptive narrative to hide its true meaning and gets you to think more about the stories and its meanings. As someone who started when they cry from Higurashi and finished ciconia and read other 07 novel's, sorry to say you're kinda being goofy for saying that. "Oh no, where's my kyute characters, where's all the moe?!" 😭 Higurashi is amazing when you don't know what's happening but when you do, rereading is boring, I've done it a lot. However, Umineko manages to not be as boring though I've reread it several times because the writing itself is just so good that it excites me despite knowing what happens next. Also, in Umi if you reread you start to understand more about the characters also you get the details you missed. And remember, characters can be purposely unlikable bit that doesn't mean the story is bad. If you haven't read Umineko, do yourself a favour please in the kindest way possible 🙏 -yuk
