Thanks for posting this informative video Vic. I've been using the hockey shot pad and leg covers. But I also use howies skate guards (cloth ) to protect the surface. I also treat the surface of the ice pad with an acrylic polish. Have you treated your Can ice with anything? Pledge (silicon) or some other periodic cleaner/polish?

So when you mean you use skate guards are you saying you skate with those on? Does the polish help? I’ve only treated it with pledge which helps the glide slightly. Other than that i haven’t maintained it too much unfortunately it doesn’t get much use since it chews up my edges ..

Do you think it's worth the hassle for an 8 year old goalie.

Definitely worth it if you’re unable to get on the ice often. It is a bit messy and I recommend a second set of steel to skate on them. I didn’t mention in the video but you can always apply glide spray for smoother slides.

@@dm8189appreciate it! There’s another set of tiles called potent hockey I see that goalie mr heffy promote , he seems to be able to slide on those pretty well. Anyway let us know what you end up getting!

do you need to put water or anything on i?

Nope! It’s just plastic tiles basically. You do need to keep them clean otherwise you will slip out.
