Sir, this was one of the most straight forward and helpful videos I've ever seen. Thank you for your time.

Thank you for pointing out the "dimple" mark on the end of the gear shaft. I installed forward controls on my bike and didn't pay attention to the position of the arm that goes on there. I have been trying to get this going all week. I knew there had to be a secret.

This was really helpful! I got started replacing my shift lever on my CB300F and had to stop short when I realized I didn't have any grease. This was a useful video to see how and what I need to lube to get things going. Thanks!

My zr7 is being weird when shifting and I'm hoping I just have to clean and re-lube the linkage. Perfect video showing and explaining everything without becoming long or going on tirades

Switch to Motul 7100 oil and you'll see MAGICAL new shifting and clutch disengagement. I couldn't even get my bikes to shift good with Mobil 4T oil.

Can you use normal chain lube for your lubricating oil on this part?

From Honda service manual that has exactly the same system (I guess all or most of Japanese): Torque for that bolt at 12:05 is 20 Nm (14 lbf ft). It felt quite a lot..

Although it would seem easiest to just remove the bolt and re-position the splined arm, The dot and the slot Must align, or the leverage to change gears will be severely increased, Adjust Only via the rod.
@theoverengineer4 жыл бұрын
Good point, thanks for watching!
@HalfdeadRider2 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure I'm misunderstanding your comment, but the purpose of the splines is for adjustment for the individual rider, different people need the pedal a bit higher or lower than factory fitment.

hello, my shifter has some rust spots, will the lacquer thinner remove that or should I use CRC evapo rust remover? do I need to use both?

Anything you have at hand and works works, no need for spending money. Polishing paste, wire brush, 2000 grit sandpaper, anything.

How did you get the boots back on the ball joints?
@theoverengineer Жыл бұрын
Place them on the rod first, then push, pull, turn over the ball joint housing.

Did you apply the thread lock directly on to the threads then insert it?

Yup, then spread it around, then put in & tighten. Works since.
