Hello where is the filler plug for gearbox and where is the diff filler plug also is the oil spec for both the same. What spec oil would I need I have a 2.5 non turbo engine 1992 registration Thank you so much

Hi. (1) Single fill point for the transmission is via the Reversing light switch on top of the gearbox just to the right of the gear linkage relay when viewed from the front. You can also fill through the gearbox breather if you wish although this is not accessible on all engines. There is NO separate differential filler. The oil flows over an internal baffle within the transmission casing from the gearbox into the differential automatically. (2) Recommended oil is 75w/90 or 80w/90 Mineral GL4 spec (the GL4 bit is critical , NOT GL5). Comma SX75/w-90 GL4 from Halfords will do (currently @£13 per litre).

Hi i have a fiat ducato 1991 290 I have just changed the clutch, pressure plate, clutch cable and throwout bearing. The cluch pedal is not under pressure still and i think it could be the slave fork/arm in the wrong possition and wont engage the bearing. Basically i cant shift gears when running. Do you know how to adjust or fix this problem?

Hello Graham. I don't see any option other than pulling the gearbox off and having a look what's going on with the bearing. Perhaps compare them to the old parts to ensure that they have the same depth. Hello, I have a Citroen C25 from 1990 2.5 turbo diesel 5 geared. How much gearbox oil should I fill.

Transmission: 2WD Transmission oil level is 1.9 Litres for 2wd models (2.5L for 4 wheel drive). Spec is GL4 80w/90 mineral oil. ( 75w90 Semi Synthetic will also suffice). The GL4 bit is important, do NOT use GL5 4WD The 4WD specifies 75w80 for the gearbox/front diff as opposed to the 80w90 for the 2WD. Again GL4 NOT GL5 . I imagine the different specification is due to the front transmission incorporating a limited-slip differential. There are two drain plugs for the transmission and BOTH must be used, one under the gearbox and one under the differential. You should fit new copper washers to these (available www.jktowers.co.uk )
