I wrecked the display. A new one now can be found around 10€ with shipping, which is reasonable. I need to know if and how the broken display can be removed (is heating enough?). And how the new one can be installed. But somewhat watertight! Is the adesive glue included? PS: I can add for everyone, that glass removal was ok. A bit scary to heat up the band.. Glass splinter are also complicated. I had to remove all lose parts before using the hairdryer again. Also the tiny lever to free up the display was not easy to understand at first.

It is going to be a tough job and I don’t think it can keep original band standards after the replacement

late response but: heating is enough to remove the screen without any permanent damage. when attaching new screen, use glue that's elastic and liquifies under heat (NOT superglue / cyanoacrylate), like B7000. it'll also serve as watertight-ening.

@@TomaszStachewicz well, I tried just now.. I was able to remove the glass. I heated all up with a hairdryer. But was still hard to remoe as the glass was shatterd and broke to pieces. I didn't want to heat up too much. So: In the end I managed to remove the display removing the sticker end lifting the lever. However, after installing the new display the band won't boot up! 😞 I discharged the battery before, to avoid any damage. But now it's non charging/switching on. Waiting already a few minutes. I fear everything got too hot! without any knowledge about max temp. and/or profesional heating system this operations is a bit risky.. well, at least I tried!

@@mirkosch926 I did this repair three times, most recently on a Mi Band 7 (hence finding this video and the comment) and never had issues. But I used a temperature-controller hot air station and stayed under 100 degrees Celsius to avoid damaging battery or any electronics inside.

Thanks for the video! I've a new Mi band 7 that has software issue. When switched on (via charger) it shows QR code to install Mi Fitness app. But then the band was unable to pair and a pop out message told me to reset the band of which I cant bcos the band's screen unable to respond to swipe, taps or long press. I've contacted Xioami Global support service & they refused to assist me further. The seller where I bought the band didnt respond to my inquiries. The band is legit original though. What do you think I should do? Thanks in advance.
