I actually have a pair of those exact units, just finished a 500+ mile trip with wife on her own bike. My thoughts are pretty much same as yours, the audio quality is ok, sounds better when on in the house, wind and road noise take a bit of the bass out of the audio when riding but its plenty loud as long as you center speakers over your ears, not all helmets indents are in proper place. Also in high wind or I assume high speed the intercom was choppy, i assume its the microphone cutting out the noise inside helmet as it was pretty loud from being blasted at 70+ mph and head on into 30 mph winds..high quality helmet may work better as we just have HJC and an off brand closed face. It was also a little choppy, not as bad just a little at distance above 1/4 mile or so, manageable but not crystal clear. However phone calls are fine, music is fine, radio is fine. For 95% of our trip or more actually it worked just like we wanted. For long 80+ mph rides across interstate in wide open windy areas be prepared for it to be choppy when using intercom as noise in helmet cancels out your voice some. Battery life is incredible, not sure how long they last as I never had an issue and got tired of waiting for it to die. Working out button functions is a bit tricky as it has alot of added features that could cause some confusion, like one push of power button activates intercom but big red microphone button doesn't its used for syncing or changing what you are connected to.. Large multi function button single puch stops music, then wait a few seconds and a long hold activates siri for making a call etc. then single push restarts music, a single push stops it, then two quick starts radio.. Like I said it takes some getting used to and patience as the response isn't immediate when device function is switching, single push stop music and wait about 5 seconds, then single hold for siri. But for price point its definitely most bang for your buck!!!

Thanks for sharing such detailed info, did you try connecting to multiple other units? I haven’t had it connected to more than 1. Would love to know how well that works

@@BuyersEdgeActual No just the same unit and only 1. It is definitely good value for money. Have you had intercom be sorta choppy at higher speed or higher wind where your head is getting rattled pretty good?

@@ewhitefo73 yes I have had that, my cardo also does this sometimes so I think that’s just how these communicators are. I do have the cheapest cardo though

@@BuyersEdgeActual ok bought a third identical unit. Group riding is a joke if you ever want to do anything other than talk. It identifies each unit 1,2,3 or 4 if you have 4. I was totally confused until I found another manual from them that details the group setup. In a nutshell comm 2 is king, comm 1 is an orphan, 3 and 4 are favorite kids. Its super hard to explain but forget one touch on and off comms beyond 2 units. 2 units is a dream!! 3 a pain. Comm 2 disables all comms. Leave comm 2 on and 1 or 3 can connect to comm 2, but no way for comm 1 or 3 to tell each other to communicate. Its crazy. Comm 2 listening to music? Forget comms. Until Comm 2 wants it. Its not in the book with device i found it in my order page from amazon “product support”
