He's literally the Andrew Reynolds of guitar. Super passionate and educated on his perfected signal chain. I had a nice convo with him a hour before he performed at Pub Rock in AZ on this tour and can confirm his humble spirit and how nice he was and complimented his extraordinary work on the album being 90% E-standard and returned the compliment on my JackThreads flannel. Heard about him from Ryan "Fluff" Bruce (RiffsBeards&Gear) and have recommended the album to many of my own friends. But yeah, Aaron is hella chill even to take a photo with. You're one gnarly dude.

vomitoriumbassist agreed. Some players are gear heads. I’m actually somewhat surprised when players *dont* know all the details.
@lancecass89975 жыл бұрын
@@vomitoriumbassist yes it's weird. Lots of players, as well as the rig rundowns interviews, who are self proclaimed gear nerds, don't have a clue half the time. It always surprised me when, even little things you'd think they'd heard of or know about, they seem confused or in awe like it's a new idea. I've wondered if maybe they're just acting, and pretending that it's new and exciting sometimes. Who knows.

Hey man no shame in that. When you’re starting out I would recommend Line 6 stuff or other amp sims or plugins. Chasing the tones in your head can get expensive. It’s easy to get into a bad case of GAS (gear acquisition syndrome)! You can virtually try out tons of amps, pedals and even whole rigs now. Find out what you like and down the road you can slowly replace with the real thing if you want piece by piece. After a few years I have a room with a couple of amps and pedalboards set up. Still most of the time I find myself playing my old “red bean” shaped Line 6 pod 2.0 with some headphones set up in the living room. Quick and dirty sounds for practicing lol

I have a stupid question. Is their drummer plugging directly into the out on the digi 002? or is he running a wireless system?
@chaserobbs3698 жыл бұрын
Hey dude I was FOH during this tour and we fed Nathan Bulla a line straight out of the 002 to a mixer by the drum kit. The mixer had two inputs one from the 002 with the click and one from FOH with a monitor mix allowing him to blend the two signals as he saw fit from the drum position.
@riebematt8 жыл бұрын
Awesome. That makes sense. I was looking into the 002 for our live set. We've been running mono tracks with a little Yamaha mixer, and it gets the job done, but we wanted to start running stereo for venues that will support that. Plus we've had bleed with the click in the past, so we bought a scarlett 6i6 while we were on tour instead and the tracks would get all glitchy and jacked up randomly.. I couldn't figure out what it was, so we gave up and went back to the mixer... You got any idea why they might have done that? I've asked a lot of people and no one has known.
@chaserobbs3698 жыл бұрын
Can you go over in detail your track rig from CPU to output and tell me what software your running? please be as detailed as possible so I can try to assess the issues.
@riebematt8 жыл бұрын
Yeah sure. Running Logic Pro X on a Macbook Pro with a 2GHz Intel Core i7 processor wth 16 gigs. (Using Logic because I can't figure out how to use MainStage for this purpose, I'm sure it'd be better.) I have 5 audio tracks running: Click, Cues, Tracks, Tambourine, and a Transition wav that I recently made. I also have 1 channel open for a vocal mic to run into the front on the interface into input 1 so our drummer can monitor vocals (Vox 1). Tracks, Tamb, and the Transition are bussed to Aux 1 which is going to outputs 1 and 2 on the interface. Those are going to FOH. Then Click, Cues, and the Vox 1 are going to Aux 2 which is going to outputs 3 and 4, where we plug direct in with headphones for our drummer. my I/O buffer size is at 128, and even when I change it, it'll still do the glitching. Also, I should note. The glitching doesn't always happen either. It's pretty unpredictable. I went to guitar center and tried to troubleshoot with them there, and I couldn't get it to do it. Then at our next show during soundcheck, it did it immediately.

You can say that but when the best guitarists in the world all talk about how each wood is different and makes a big difference because people like that pay attention to every nuance and detail in their sound. You might not hear it but most people who are very serious about their sound do hear the difference. Misha, tosin, Aaron, JP, and a ton of others have all talked about the differences. If you choose to think all wood is the same that’s cool but the fact is that it’s not. People say that about wood in drums as well but I know my ears hear the difference between my old maple kit and my new Tama starclassic Bubinga kit. Much deeper and more aggressive. Same tuning same heads same sticks same everything.
