Gears 5 is a third-person shooter video game developed by The Coalition and published by Xbox Game Studios for Microsoft Windows and Xbox One. It is the sixth installment of the Gears of War series.
Gears 5 focuses on Kait Diaz, an Outsider of Locust descent. As Kait, the player must uncover the origins of the Locust and Kait's family. Gears of War 4 protagonist James Dominic "JD" Fenix, his best friend Delmont "Del" Walker, and JD's father Marcus Fenix also return.

Man, I miss hearing Prescott and Myrrah from the old games. They felt like the real leaders of the Gears universe, not like Jinn and Niles. I like the fact that despite the characters disliking Prescott for using the Hammer of Dawn on cities, at the end of the day Prescott is still honored, akin to the Marcus Fenix attitude "He did what he had to do."

the best thing was the brothers till the end trailer when marcus was overrun and surrounded by the enemy he looked into his brothers eyes like he was saying goodbye and started the chainsaw. A true moment of pure will, never give up no matter how hopeless it looks. Brothers till the end

The beginning of story mode was scary, all dark with the horror music. It made me look around corners with my gun... and then JD just yelled "EYAHHHHHAHAHH!" with his father saying "Grow up." I thought it was because he was scared xD

The Memorial at the end there is also filled by using literally every single character with a name who died, no matter how briefly they showed up. Richie Wallin, Will Carmine, Bai Tak, are some of such names I spotted. Richie was Dizzy's adopted son from his first marriage, before both his wife and Richie died with the first Emergence. Will Carmine was killed by RAAM when RAAM began the Surface War, and Bai Tak was drowned by the UIR when he was trying to save civilians from a sinking Marlin. There are many, many more names on there, each with their own stories.

And with that, I am now certain that they weren't just boasting when they said they made the memorial out of every character to have been given a name in the entirety of Gears. Also, there are A LOT, but really a lot of parallelisms and similarities between the Gears of War's Saga and the Mass Effect one. I have to premise a thing though. This two games didn't copied from each other anything, and I'm not assuming that. Instead, I think they both get inspired from the best models and ideas regarding the sci-fi genre, also in two different unique ways, that are the way of Gears of War, and the Way of Mass Effect. I love both the Sagas equally, and i find those similarities I found, positively interesting and pleasant to analyse. They added my playing time a more in-depth immersion and familiarity that I've never experienced before in a game. And if both the games, in some ways, through their Studios are inspiring each other with some content, well, that's only for the best! As I said, both the games are unique and have their own story to tell. So, that said, I start with this: There are two moons you can see orbiting around Sera through Stroud Estate in GoW 4, that are also present in ME in various context during the Trilogy, and are of primary interest of speculations, specially after the next ME's trailer; Other similarities/Easter eggs/Parallelisms could be found in Baird's IA, IRIS, that really resembles EDI, from Mass Effect, especially during their humorous conversations. In fact, Baird has some traits that also characterizes Jeff Joker Moreau and a little bit of Garrus Vakarian. There are also the problems related to military's mech VI, the Shepherds (reminds me of someone...) And all the other mechs, like the D.R-1 (much alike S.R.1), and their case of corruption due to the Swarm, that is similar to what happens during ME2 in some secondary missions and DLC, and in general to the complex problem of the IA sentients, also called Synthetics. It's a story of wars and of great moral and philosophical dilemmas that have an answer, but it's difficult to explain it so easily on a comment like this one, but if you're playing or have already played both the games, you know what I'm talking about; The Swarm or the Locusts are similar to Collectors or the Reapers's Forces; Myrrah the Queen is something like the Catalyst (in ME original concept, Reapers would have had a Queen, with which mind controlled them since their origin, innumerable years before the game's actual time); There are a lot of quotes regarding the Immortality and the Eternity theme (really well written in both the games). I've had confirmations of this during Reyna's (Myrrah with the Locust body of Kait's mother) speech during that difficult moment in the end of Gears 5; The COG promote certain ideas and have acted in ways that Cerberus of ME would really appreciate; Nihles interest in science, evolution, experiments and so on, and also is calm attitude during Gears 5, resembles many traits of The Illusive Man and his organisation; Characters have nightmares about they're struggles, and even more: Marcus Fenix had a nightmare in GoW 3 that, knowing how the game proceed and ended, was also like a premonitions. The same way, Shepard starts to have nightmares during ME3, that in reality are dream visions caused by Shepard's fight against Indoctrination, doubts, fears and pains, mostly related to the lost ones. The same discussion can be certainly done for Kait. Well, there are also other traits in common between Shepard and some main characters of GoW, like Marcus and also Kait, as i already said. Ah and, since I'm Italian, I've directly discovered that Reyna's Italian voice in Gears of War 4, also voiced FemShep Commander in ME Trilogy. I recognized the voice since the first meeting with Reyna. I searched for it, and i wasn't wrong; The Instrument used at Azure blast an "explosion", with a similar end as the blast fired by the Crucible in the ending of ME3. This and other things have some similar aspects between the two games, but, as I said, they both built and develop their own stories with Great Originality. Regarding this video I say this: At 9:01 that phrase emphasize the term "Calibrate", that is the exact word with which Garrus Vakarian is humourously known. In Mass Effect Citadel DLC, after the party, he makes a self-sarcastic comment about it. So I think at least in this case there are more than one Easter eggs within few seconds.

Shortly after Gears 1, so about 14 years after E-Day. He had become the fourth member of Delta Squad (the others being Marcus, Dom and Jace Stratton), and they were investigating "huge seismic disturbances" (the Riftworm making it's first appearances). Shortly after arriving at Montevado, they were sunk as the entire city collapsed into one big sinkhole, with Jace being crippled and both his and Dom's lancers being disabled by debris. The two were also onset by Heart Leeches, an unaffiliated nightmare creature that latches onto your chest and uh... Basically ruptures your ribcage as it sucks out your heart. I realize I'm dragging on, so... TL;DR? He dies buying the rest of Delta time to escape, as he was already about to die from Rustlung.
