Great run, congrats! In regards to the Dug in card. Do you have to shoot blindly to get the effect of this card or can you aim while in "cover" and still get the damage reduction benefit?

@@eLcHiNoChannel You just have to sit in cover somewhere and the effects already apply. Doesn't matter if you're blindfireing or aiming. Blindfire just keeps more of your body parts in cover, making it harder for enemies to actually hit you.

Ahhh the days before a tap wouldn't spawn at the begging to assist, when the fabricator didn't have a health bar and when the characters were the classes before they changed it. Honestly, I'm super happy the classes were opened up. The only thing I wish they kept was that the fabricator was immortal

I like to do this with Retro and Claw. Retro for drones, swap to Claw for rejects and removing helmets off grenadiers. I'm no where near as good as the OP, but can do the run on Inconceivable w/o Survivor mod ... takes a few deaths and 0 success defeating Matriarch solo.

Nice run. But now they've patched Rifle Feedback. It only goes for the current wave, not the subsequent waves. So it may get difficult to do this run now on Master

Question, do you think that you would still be able to handle Master horde solo with 'Veteran' class since the Operation 5 update, or would the reduction of 'living legend' make it untenable?

I doubt it the current setup would work anymore. Living Legend gives you Stim and an additional 30% damage resistance (was mentioned in one of the patch notes). Not being able to keep it running will result in being recked. Besides, the fab can no longer be used to block entries since it'll eventually get destroyed. However I heard on Icebound one can block the AI pathing when having placed the Fab properly, meaning they can only come to you through the interconnected "bridge" area (I'm talking about the balcony area with the slide). Possibly a solo run can be achieved there (even with Veteran - at least with some good boss RNG).

You have to start a custom match, never ever select the one that shows up in the main menu there, those can only be on Inconceivable and usually you get paired up with terrible players.

I have not been able to get this done. I can do it on advanced or elite difficulty with a mechanic or engineer but not any other class. Very cool to see.

Well Marcus (now Veteran) has been nerfed anyways and it's no longer doable the same way. Probably still somewhat doable but not the same way. The Architect solo was a real pain I tell you... a solo is probably doable with all classes on Atrium. Jack being the potential candidate with which it is not.

Horde mode for Gears 5 has been made less and less user friendly over the years. When they made the fabricator destroyable and 4k needed to repair it, that was a pain. Plus that huge flying bird boss is a pain and total bullet sponge.

Im not sure if this is the case but you can probably find out, the custom lancer card works toward the lancer GL as well as the actually GL so maybe if you really need to, you can use a locker full of GLs for matriarchs or others

Possibly, but I guess it's still not enough damage to get her down. I assume the lockers are still broken and sometimes only reload 2 grenades. It's also very expensive to get another locker. And the GLs are very slow on reloading.

That's different for each character. You'll have to read each card individually to figure out how Stim can be applied. In this case you need Band of Brothers and stay undamaged for a second.

This has been done with the old Veteran (then Marcus) which allowed for infinite Ultimate duration. A Matriarch can indeed be a problem and she appeared during my Architect solo on wave 50. Depending on the class you're playing, the general best approach is probably to just burn her with a Scorcher, which is what I did there.

How are you hitting things around corners? Also you aren't even putting your sights on enemies but still hitting them with head shots. Is it like a cheat or something?

That's the Ultimate of the Veteran class (back then was tied to Marcus specifically). Every shot was an automatic headshot while the Ultimate was active. There used to be a skill card that extended the duration with every successful hit. It was so broken that it extended over the visible maximum at the bottom, hence lasting almost indefinitely. This has since been patched and the card was changed so that you can no longer extend the duration, instead it's just a one-time extension when triggered (instead of per hit).

There is no limit to how much you can "refill" your Ultimate, so it goes over the visible "circle" at the bottom if you keep damaging enemies. A higher level Rifle Feedback obviously helps keeping it and the higher the damage output, the bigger the addition of the duration.

The others lack damage resistance usually and therefore can die by just 2 bullets on wave 31 onwards. It's definetly doable with other characters but near impossible. Ammo count is probably the biggest issue and flying enemies are the biggest pain.

@@CommanderCH that's fair. Characters like Kait, Emile and Lahni require getting close. Which would doom you to quick end. Even the engineers would struggle, even turrets. Everything else would likely be destroyed instantly. The only other I could see doing 1-50 aswell, is clay carmine.

@@BobBob-up8fz He as well will lack damage resistance. The 60% is not instant and only lasts 5 seconds until it resets. With double damage, they still down you fairly quickly without even being able to reach 60% damage resistance. His slow mobility (due to relying on chainguns I guess?) is only making it worse. The Torque bow would stun them but is difficult to aim at enemies due to the charge time. The bleeding is not high enough. Fahz is really strong against anything but bosses. Against bosses he will be melted. JD and Keegan could somewhat possibly get lucky and get through it but are at high risk due to once again, lacking damage resistance.

It's the first ever solo Master Horde recorded, give me a break please. 😅 I honestly doubt it's even possible to beat any other map solo at all. When certain bosses push in, it gets messy really quickly due to the 2.5x damage. And certain bosses are really though to kill with certain characters. At this moment I'm trying to solo Master a Frenzy on this map as Clayton. 2.5x damage is currently a pain to work with as Clayton... two shots from a Claw and it's a RIP.

Because the Focus card of Marcus (now Veteran) used to extend the duration for each hit instead of just being a flat percentage increase as it is now. Hence whenever you did damage you were able to extend the Ultimate basically to infinity.
