Battle Royale is slowly dying. I think PVE content will become more popular though through alternative means, such as a mob shooter mode like Helldivers, Doom or (the firefight mode in) Halo Infinite.

@@DeeYee99 no xd, UE lasted a very long time and was also on pc, if the collection gets put on steam, many consoles, and has crossplay, and is gears 1-3 it will last atleast a good 6-8 years

I would LOVE a mixture of Overrun and Guardian mixed together. Like attack and defender. Pretty explanatory but each team has 5 classes. Assault, Medic, Sniper, Heavy, and Leader. Sniper can not push and must stay back keeping it balanced. Defenders will have to set up fortifications and defend their leader while the attack leader must push. You have 3 rounds once the attack squad pushes far enough, then the 2nd phase starts. Similar to Overrun, create more e-holes/swarm pods to spawn closer. Then on the final phase the defenders have to get their leader to the raven to escape safely. Something like that could be epic if done correctly while maintaining balance.

The battle royale genre is flooded and pretty old now. Even extraction shooters are getting old. We need large scale horde type modes similar to Helldivers

For me the issues with the new gears is the focus on the casual audience is actually hurting the longevity of the game as casual players play a game for a month or 2 then move on to the new thing. They need to focus on competitive multilayer with balanced weapons and nothing over the top. Focus on great maps and deep movement/weapon mechanics. Second thing is the vibe gears 1 & 2 and I guess some parts of 3 had this sad oppressive feeling to the story and world but there was spinkles of hope in there. Focus on dark themes and little bit of horror. Make progression and unlocking skins tied to Ingame accomplishments There you have it gears is back.

balancing the game around the gnasher and wall bouncing is what hurt Gears the most. The competitive audience for Gears is non-existent anyway

To keep the game alive they just need to do rolling matches. Basically the only game you can play will be considered a ranked match just like battlefield.

The sky is the limit if The Coalition can perform well. I'd like to see an updated Horde Mode that stays away from the special hero powers that they had in Gears 5... and just keep hero powers out of the game in general. We'll see what happens, hyped either way.

Gears collection release the end of this year on unreal engine 5 Have gears 2 remastered with extra chapter with a POV of baird and cole dropping from the pods or something along those lines. The "war" aspect of gears 2 was great and i hope they can learn from how dark and gloomy gears 2 and 1 is and transfer than into gears 6 while its fresh on their minds from remastering the originals Then gears 6 releases end of 2025 This would deff fuel me up to get back into gears and keep me excited They did this with gears 1 remaster then the next following year released the main game This gets the old school fans back in and gives them something to look forward too Plus adding additional chapters to gears 2 from different pov will keep things interesting I have low expectations that will do anything significant for gears 5 has ruined my hope for a good game

@@fenrirsfolly92 The Locust weren’t killed with the end of Gears 3. They were put into hibernation within impenetrable shells and then they evolved into the Swarm, everything went underground to get rid of it for good. 99.9% of fans would agree 3 ended the series, even if you can find a way to justify more game. The new games have no charm and the sales have been horrible. People want a remaster of the OG trilogy, that's it.

@@fenrirsfolly92 I feel you but gears heads break it down to the issues with the very mechanics. Like how in gears 4. It's easier to wallbounce but if you do it consecutively then the range is shortened. If you take cover in this game, then there is a higher chance of miss rolling even when you are aiming and directing yourself towards a wall just to take cover (not wallbounce). Taking cover is a big portion of the game. Tbh you can even replicate miss rolling by moving towards a wall and pressing "a" and releasing your directional input to fast. When the devs said that "they wanted to make the player think about their movement". This is what they meant. And its many more mechanis like this that make up the entire game gears of war 4. They literally overlap and cancel eachother out making the game feel clunky and to much junk motion going on with the character its self. I play default control scheme btw and it's like you are fighting the games mechanics more than you are fighting the enemy. I simply can't enjoy the game because I have to try so hard to perform with the game just to play against another player. It's frustrating asf.
