Dude even though he isn’t the main character Dom is a role model. When he was a teen he got a girl pregnant and decided to be a man and be a father and a husband. He risked his life and honor to save Marcus when he was sentenced to death, even selling his Embry Star to try and bail Marcus out. Not only that (going to the point where you said he encouraged Marcus and Anya’s relationship) when Marcus was sent to prison for life he didn’t betray Marcus. Anya was vulnerable and in search of someone to be there for her, and every time she wrote a letter to Marcus he wouldn’t respond (In the book The Slab a Gear hating prison warden destroyed Anyas letters to Marcus) Dom was a friend to Anya yes, but he never tried to move in on her even though he needed someone as well. He made sure he didn’t betray Marcus, and stayed true to himself. If that doesn’t convince you that Dom isn’t a good role model and one of the best video game characters I don’t know what will. (Sorry for the rant)

Literally almost cried reading this. Like when the first game came out he became my favorite because he had my name.😂 But the older i got and started reading all about gears and Dom he just became a role model to me and i wanna be like him even now to this day. I met Dom when i was 7 years old and i said goodbye to him in gears 3when i was 12 or 13 years old. (Can't really remember the exact age) And i recently replayed all the gears of war campaigns. (Judgement first then all the way to 5) And it made me cry once again after i seen him reunite with weakened wife and him sacrificing himself to save his best friend and the crew. I'm now 18 years old and he still is role model to me.❤ R.I.P Dom i will carry on you're loyalty, Dedication, Everything.

No matter how many times i hear Dom’s story it still gets me. I was the player 2 every time i played with my brother, I think that’s why I like Dom and Jace so much.

I"ll say one thing about Dominic; his AI in the first Gears game is atrocious,especially noticeable in the sections with only you and him where apart from being damn near useless he would often get in your way,block your shots,failing to help out in certain intense firefight and playing hide and seek with himself back around some corner duck runnung back and forth between low cover failing to respond to your commands;and when you finally managed to entice him to come he run into the thick of the action and get downed almost immeately,"Help me I"m bleeding out here" but you could"nt help him without getting killed so I used to leave him,at least he was out of the way.He even pinned me to the wall a couple of times "refusing"vto move forcing a checkpoint restart. During development Epic was forced to improve the Locust AI so they obviously forgot about Dominic

Act lV comes to mind. On the level just before you reach the entrance to the Fenix Estate there's a part more often than not that AI Dom gets stuck by some tall city buildings and so you have to do the rest of the mission alone or until he unglitches himself
