No, I prefer to keep it vertical. Had mine since launch day 2020. Now my PRO is staying vertical with the vertical stand.

My PS5 has been lying on its side for the last two and a half years and so far, no problems. For what it's worth I live in the far north of New Zealand where it gets rather hot and again, no problems with the console regarding any overheating issues.

Same. Launch day one, verticle. I do clean it out every 3 months by removing the plates.

I call bullshit on vertical orientation is better for its lifecycle. Just take care of it. Also DO NOT use a vacuum cleaner on ANY electronics. Vacuum cleaners can generate static electricity that may damage computer components. Instead, use compressed air and/or anti static cleaning tools.

Thank you so much for all your info I would like to say though I ran across a video you did a year ago debunking that putting your PlayStation vertically was not going to put any harm on the P5. I have yet to explore more of your videos so I may have something wrong. My question is why in your video a year ago you say it won't harm the P5 but in your latest video you said to keep it vertically to save the life of the P5

Horizontal. And that debunking video is talking about the thermal paste leaking out was debunked We still have dry spot issues that cause overheating when put vertical.

No. I tried laying my PS5 flat and it overheats and shuts itself down when I do so. When standing it upright I don't get any overheating issues at all. Other KZbinrs have also done tests that show the console has better airflow when upright due to the way it was designed.

I don’t know he’s the only dude that keeps bringing it up. I think he’s intentionally shilling the whole stand-up thing because he knows it’s going to drive engagement in the comments with people disagreeing with him, which pushes the algorithm to get him more views. That’s the only reason I can imagine him to continually bring it up because I’ve heard no one talk about it for the past year at least except him.

Glad to hear you're keeping an eye on the content I bring it up because besides the pro all other models suffer from dry spots still. And it's worth mentioning to new owners so they can decide for themselves. Im surprised how many people are willing to take risks with others stuff. I don't want anyone coming back to me saying their console doesn't work because my guide told them to stand it up. Laying flat has the lowest risk of heating issues period. Standing up will work for 98% of people, but when you're the 2% that suffer, it's still 100% a big problem. Why risk it

It's not turned on, so risk is really really low. When it's on the liquid metal gets more liquid so it flows easier
