An interesting product. People complaining about the short duration of the 6500 lumens setting are missing the point: it is intended as a short burst to disorient an attacker or give a quick glimpse of something rather far away.
@tybeejeffroАй бұрын
Bingo. Getting a face full of 6500 lumens at night will completely blind and disorient anybody unlucky enough to be on the receiving end. I carry the T4K hidden in my hand for this very reason.

@@tybeejeffroyeah lol I thought a 2300 lumen strobe was the shit
@valorant84618 күн бұрын
instead of the short strobe time, the big drop on high is the turn off. I hope it can stay around 800lm for an hour or so but not 400 lm for 3 hours

Only problem with the 29 is that they had to drop the waterproof rating because the orings kept getting melted with the heat at 6k lumens, I guess I'll wait for the 29pro with ip68 rating in a few months.
@gearsNtools4 ай бұрын
Yeah 6,500 Lumens is no joke. Whole new meaning to “pocket torch” 🤣
@soonenough9383 ай бұрын
So does that mean it actually has the seals as if it was an IP67-type waterproof rating, they just can’t guarantee that they’ll remain effective long term because of the heat?
@Studat2 ай бұрын
The edc27 has the same rating and lower outputs.

I use the Boruit V20 as my EDC flashlight as it's one of the best functional yet effective flashlight out there. BUT I want this EDC 29 for its powerful 6000 lumen strobe. It can be very effective to get away from a dangerous situation, basically can be used as a defence and running away. I'll get 3, 1 for me and 2 for my sisters.

That 2500 mAh battery is the thing that gets me, it's gonna blow through that battery quick. I have a Fenix LD30 3500 mAh, which I think is one of the beat EDC out there. 1600 lumens, strobe, SOS, with a two-way body clip so you can clip it to your hat for a headlamp. It’s only 4.3 inches long, 1 inch head bezel, and .89 inch body handle. It's Ialso got a tail switch with side button for mode switching. It really is unreal, I suggest grabbing one from Fenix before they get discontinued. There's already a new model, but it's still not as good, I believe.

I need to check that light out. This light is really compact, I don’t think there’s room for a bigger bat. For an EDC light that recharges via USBC I’m ok with it

I have EDC27 and one thing that really bugged me is the 2 stage button that crap out really quick and lost the detent for the first stage. Now it becomes really touchy to switch power level. Sometimes it will switch power level when you just touch the button, or it will just shut off when you attempt to switch power level. Any idea they fixed this issues?
@maniacaudiophile3 ай бұрын
Just got EDC29... The button tactile feedback is much better, I hope it stays that way. It does feel a lot better than what I remembered with EDC27.
@vrbastrom22 күн бұрын
@@maniacaudiophile Does it have that stupid 3-stage button as EDC27 had? That means full press / half press and even "light press" (for checking battery)? Or just crisp 2 stage?
@maniacaudiophile22 күн бұрын
@@vrbastrom I think that's 2 stage like a camera button. But I'm using the button a lot less with EDC29 when compared to 27. When i switch on, i flick the slide lock switch and one click on, when i switch off, i just flick the slide lock switch to lock.

No, the middle press is always the search mode. The full press can be switched between lumens shield or strobe.

Kinda disappointed by the beam tint... on most vids it appears to be in the neutral range, maybe 4-4500K? Would like that to be a bit more cool white, 10,000 mah battery, 2 min burst mode and what else, lmao...

@yves98932 ай бұрын
Yes, there is no real way around it. That much power in such a compact format will generate a lot of heat no matter what. I think it's more about offering the most features in a tiny format when needed without being the best at everything. The 6500 lumens mode only lasts seconds but it's a good example. Not meant to be used for long, just to blind an attacker or get a glimpse of something far away.
@festerofest4374Ай бұрын
@@yves9893 Yes, a nice all-round set of reasonable compromises based on engineering realities, I think! For those with other needs such as durability, waterproof or longer battery life, there are different (and mostly much larger/heavier) options for that. Compromise can be a very good thing by winning nicely in multiple ways and that's how I view this flashlight.
