Nice wrench sets. It doesn't hurt to have a secondary set of wrenches for home or travel use. Warranty on tools sure isn't what it used to be. You don't know what you'll get in return.

Chrome vanadium is extremely hard, chrome moly is more impact resistant. Most wrenches are made from chrome vanadium including a lot of gearwrench wrenches. I think The cheap tools have chrome vanadium stamped on them because they want you to see it’s made from high quality alloys. Although not all chrome vanadium alloys are equal in strength and quality as with other alloys.

I really do like a lot of GW stuff, but those chinese wrenches they put out are no better than no name Amazon examples. For what you paid, the length, and the warranty its still a good deal, but I really miss the old Taiwanese stuff. If you notice, they can't even get the logo on straight, and that flat spot passing QC is insane. The newest chinese stuff seems to be better a lot better, but I always keep an eye out for the old tools in good shape. GW is very hin n miss now, back in the day you could trust anything they put thier name on, now a days its just not the case unfortunately. Im not mad, just disappointed lol.Thanks for the peek at 👍

Taiwan was better. They're starting to go with Vietnam now too. I'd recommend Capri tool wrenches

Wrenches without the gripping teeth are okay but no comparison to wrenches with gripping technology.I too use Wright grip and I have Carlyle long pattern for a secondary set.The Carlyle also have gripping tech...but only the long pattern carlyle wrenches have it.The standard carlyle do not.

Is that you spouting off facts ? Or a retarded opinion. We live in a world where we could actually test stuff & record facts, not wives tales 😂😂 High end name brand stuff is 4x the price, so by logic it should be 4x as good right ??? Yet it’s not even twice as good on tests. So by logic if I buy a set of snap on wrenches or Matco, Cornwell or any top brand, I expect to see minimum 4 times the quality, cause these guys are demanding minimum four times the price.
