This was the first ever TableTop episode I watched. I fell involve with this adorable and yet not so complicated game and I bought it. Now almost one year later I have started to play more advanced board games and I have gotten many new friends thanks to board games and role playing games. Okay, here's what cracked me up. First off **SPOILER**, don't read if you don't want to know how the game progresses. So, at 14:04, Wil tries to help out Harley with a bit of strategy on where to place his yellow tile if he's trying to get a certain shape to score immediately, and in response Harley "nobly" refuses to accept the handicap and puts the tile back where he had originally planned (and therefore doesn't score that round), taking some chiding from the other players in the process. Then, at 18:51 Harley executes his master stroke, using that tile as part of a configuration that allows him to play 3 scoring cards in one round, completely turning the tables on the game. So much for being noble and accepting his "mistake". Well played sir, well played indeed.

Best episode yet. Ro was so stinkin' cute (and beautiful, as always). Drew was so eager and confident. Harley was hilarious and honest. And Will was so humble! Seriously...I have a competitive nature, too. To see Will fight off being competitive and crushing his opponents was refreshing. The synergy the players had was amazing, and this episode really put me in a fantastic mood. Great job, guys! ~From a loyal fan with a rather ridiculous user name. :D

Takenoko is a really good game. We played several times with different groups of friends and everyone appreciated. The reason: it's simple, the logic of the game is easy to understand and the design well-curated. Of course games like Andor or Castle Panic are better for experienced players but for casual gaming with a group of friends (4 max) it's just perfect!

It's because they put the irrigation blocks around the pond. You're not supposed to do that; that way, the tiles can tessellate properly and you can put irrigation blocks on top.

My friend and I picked up this game a few months ago. I was a little skeptical at first, but we ended up enjoying a lot and introducing it to some of our other friends. I'm glad to see you guys do an episode on this fun game. Also, that four green towers of three bamboo each is an evil card. We played it wrong the first time we played too, and I think I've only seen it played in two games (out of 60 or so). It's so easy to have someone else mess it up.

no, that was my first thought as well. It's great to see how many games can be made using those hexagon principles. Phantom League is another one that uses hexagons. That's a spacetrading game with some excellent add-ons.

Snowcat1970 Most games use hexagons honestly, because you get the most bang for your buck, in terms of having a variety of options, but still keeping it simple enough where everyone is wracking their brain for the correct choice.

Harley , rosanna, and drew are all basically the same age. (Rosanna and Harley were born in 85, I think, and drew was born in 86) which makes them around 30-32 years old. Wil is 45. So younger doesn't have to mean 12, it could mean 18-25 years old, which is approximately the age of the people now, who use to watch icarly and Hannah Montana (Yes I know this is an old thread)
