how taxing is it on the PC to run more than one OBS at the same time? And can you stream in multiple places at the same time too or just record stuff?

At least for me, there was little to no effect but then again my use case and pc will be different.

Hi! Thank you so much for the video, it was super helpful. I want to run 2 instances, one for streaming with all of my overlays and one for recording so that my camera is separate from my gameplay, but I've run into an issue. I can't get my webcam to work on both instances at the same time. Do you have any idea how I could fix this?

I ran into the same issue where I can't use the same webcam (or camera) source in multiple OBS instances. Not sure of a workaround or fix 🤔

Unfortunately I was only able to use the same cameras on one instance of OBS.

From my experimentation I've found one way to do this. Hit virtual camera on your main screen, add as source to new profile. Hold alt to trim your camera out of the source and size to your needs.

Wanted to ask I have a streaming profile and when ever I make a new profile for recording only it seems to duplicate it pluss if I delete any scenes or sources it deletes them on my streaming profile aswell been so frustrated with this as carnt record anymore since I started streaming please help me out lol 🍻

I'm not sure myself for every machine/setup. And if you change or delete scenes/sources it could cause issues with profile

I’m using hotbind to start recording on OBS, but it only triggers on one instance when I have two open. Is this the intended behavior?

As far as I've seen, I can only use the cameras in 1 instance of OBS .

@@GeekoutdoorsBrand I figured out a solution! I use the first instance of OBS to record (usually a wide recording of desktop and recording face) and on that isntance I start virtual camera. On the second instance of OBS I launch for streaming standard, I will use the virtual camera from the first instance as a webcam source in the second instance. THANK YOU FOR THIS HACK!
