Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani one of my top 5 fav movies. ALL the songs are amazing very emotional. This festival is called Phagwa or Holi. Its a religious festival in Hinduism that commemorates the arrival of Lord Ram back to Ayodhya after his 14 year exile and after rescuing his wife Sita from the evil Ravan. This is how the people of Ayodhya celebrated his return as King. It is True Hindu history all recorded in one of our holy books called the Ramayana. We play using abeer and powder but as of recently foreigners who dont understand the meaning behind it have been abusing the festival.

Definitely try holi, one of the best festivals that i miss in America. You can get the colored powder in any local indian grocery store if you have one nearby during the festival. Probably in mid March but date changes every year. :)
