So much hate for this comment! You’re right, tho. In fact he didn’t switch up his get up options enough, either. It looked like he got scared and kept defaulting to the most consistent option, making him too predictable. This isn’t backseat gaming, morons, it’s commenting. @TheLibertybellz4 жыл бұрын
Props to both players, pretty hype to see the new tether in action. Only comment on Quik's gameplay is that he didn't get up attack ONCE. Getup attack beats out everything without super armor... e.g. flame breath. It's not the greatest option, but it shines as a whiff punish and against over aggressive ledge pressure.
@d.s.alcoda4 жыл бұрын
Getup attack is usually a bad option. You have almost a whole second of vulnerability after the attack, which is just death against a Bowser. For Flame Breath specifically: Bowser usually used it a correctly spaced distance away from ledge where getup attack would miss and QuiK would just take more damage for no reason. The times he WAS close, the animation for Bowser's fire ending is Ardmore to see, so QuiK could getup attack too late and let Bowser shield it, which is a free kill for the Bowser. Get up attack comes out pretty slowly, so it's just not worth the risk. You'all notice the Bowser often would fire breath for different-length bursts, then immediately start holding shield. QuiK was smart to not getup attack since that's a mistake many players make in the same circumstance
@stv17034 жыл бұрын
It wasnt on 7.0 and get up is absolutely worse than drop down jump get up with fair.. and that will get punished too if it gets shielded

I feel this match should be played much more aggressively on Samus’s part. You gotta wall bowser out for sure, but you can’t do it forever cause he will get in and kill you. You have to mix between pushing and pulling.

How come quiK never fully charges his charge shot?
@bnh27664 жыл бұрын
A full charge does more knockback, leaving the opponent too far out of range for follow up strings/combos like grab to down throw to an aerial. So while full charge does more damage on the initial hit, a partially charged shot will lead to more damage overall
@ryanboguslavsky52154 жыл бұрын

@TheDylicious774 жыл бұрын
I could be wrong, but I think he likes the fakeout. If you watch, he’ll often charge about 85%, then charge again in really short little bursts, so I think he uses that to figure out how the opponent will react under fire pressure.
@MunchthatCrunch4 жыл бұрын
having it not fully charged means you can keep using it for movement mix-ups. wave bouncing and whatnot.
@BVasquezp4 жыл бұрын
Samus can deal lots of damage to heavies, but her lack in decent killmoves allows them to go agresive and dominate.
@Turnpost25523 жыл бұрын

@shmand4 жыл бұрын
Since when does fire breath not stop Samus charging?
@solaris_cc43534 жыл бұрын
If you're too far away Fire Breath does not cause knockback: people take advantage of this by using Fire Breath on opponents after a shield break, since it doesn't let them recover from stun if you space it well.

Smash Ultimate has a history of these so called "wifi warrior" top players coming to Real Life tournaments... and doing just as well as online. Yeah, online is less reliable than IRL, but don't discount it. Sparg0 spent most of his Smash career just playing online. Showed up to tourneys, wiped people out left and right, including Void and some other notable wins. Whether you're online or not, good neutral and big-brain plays still take as much skill.

I don't understand how he lost to bowser. Granted he has to fight twice as hard to take a single stock off that brute, but I have never seen a bowser that wasn't getting juggled into Oblivion. Bowser is a big ole meat stick to wail on. A ton of those "mind-games" and "psych outs could have just been attacks which could have killed Bowser early.
