The performance of this 56mm lens in terms of sharpness, flare control and night shooting makes it a must - have for Sony A6000 users like me. The sharpness is outstanding, especially at F4, but it's also good at F1.8. The flare control ensures that there's no unwanted glare in my images. For night shooting, it can handle the low light and point light sources excellently. The F1.8 aperture allows for great light intake. The metal body and hood add to its durability and style. The autofocus and overall handling make it a pleasure to use during my photography sessions.

I recently did some portraits using the Sigma 30mm on a A6700, and it got me thinking about 85mm equivalent lenses again. I shoot mostly video, but I would like a 56mm for occasional home photography / portrait use. At $400+ I'd probably just stick with what I have, unless I actually planned to use it more. This 56mm f1.8 TTArtisan at $129 makes it not even a question, so I ordered one. Thanks for the excellent review!

It would give you a pretty tight shot on that camera but if that's what you need, it'll work great. It's a good lens, right up there with the Zeiss 55mm F1.8.

Hey there, Shane: Thanks for the video. I know yoiu were wondering if / which Sony camera to keep. I don't know if this helps or not, but I think right now if I were going to have ONE Sony camera, it would probably be the a7 IV. Reason being that if you have to do reviews of Sony aps-c lenses, you could still put them on the a7 IV and still get enough megapixels to make some great stills. Of course, the overheating issues on the a7 IV can cause problems, but I am guessing you have enough Lumix cameras that you can easily record for long durations without overheating issues. Anyway, that's just what I thought would work for YOUR need to have a flexible Sony camera around to do lens reviews. All the best, Mark in Marin County.

The autofocus is decent but I was only able to test it out on the FX30 and there's no burst modes.

First rule of credible videos is to not wear dark sunglasses. Much better when you take off the glasses. Hope that helps.

Perfect video confident photographer knowledge, I maybe was wrong to uos it on A7 mii or A7miii I should try 6400 or 6000 not showing off all this cameras in perfect condition and for sell many more flagship cameras too, the job as collector not bad as photographer 😅
