In this video I will show you the 7.2 KW Fast Charger that we can get with the Nexon EV MAX and also talk about charging the car with the regular 3.3 KW portable charger that we get with the car, talk about some of the charging questions that many of you have asked, so that you have a better idea about charging the Nexon EV or the Nexo EV MAX and you can judge if you should opt for this optional 7.2KW charger.

I always thought EVs are trash before. But when fuel prices rise and some minor road blockage connecting my state, i was fed up and bought Ather 450x. I was amazed till today and my thoughts towards EVs has completely changed. I plan on buying EVs for my 4 wheeler also when i have the money. I also think that for Indian EV lovers, Tata has done a really great job as many EVs which are not Tata are always so pricey!

I believe for a Nexon EV there a warranty for the battery for 7 years. If it fails after that, a new battery will cost 7.5 lakhs. If the motor fails, it'll cost 4.5 lakhs. Ridiculous numbers. Taking this into account, how is an EV economical compared to an ICE?
@turbocharged962

@@tanmaykelkar8444 its like thinking your ic engine fails after company warranty! Just understand that the battery that tata uses has 3000 charge cycle capacity. 300km range per charge means 3000*300=9lakh kms. The battery should last around this. And for the motor a very rare chance of failure. Even age old reva's are running good. For a person who uses a car intensively can save a lot. Driving feel of an ev is unmatchable.dont just think only about the economy. No sound ,no vibration, no gear shift delays, no gearbox problems,no jerk . Butter smooth ride.

I would like to add that AC charger is where input at CCS 2 port is AC and DC charger is where input to CCS 2 port is DC. In AC charger onboard AC to DC convertor is used while in DC charger no conversion required. All AC charger has SMPS circuit in the charger to regulate 230 Volt AC and current capacity also to handle rated current. That's why 7.2kwh charger has large size to handle heavy current. While in DC fast charger DC convertor is it self in charging station. When we connect gun to port, BMS checks the maximum charging current getting and shows the time for charging accordingly

@antrixvarma Жыл бұрын
I would say do your own research as well as there is nothing like zero emission. An EV already done its carbon emissions before it hits the road and also i don't see it's feasible enough to use ev. EVs are only for those who has multiple vehicles at home or want to save on fuels but again ev comes with a higher price tag. Like nexon ev max comes around 21 22 lakh on the other hand a petrol nexon xz plus variant costs around 13 lakh in Bangalore. So it's too early to jump into the ev race. And we also need to look for the better alternative. Running a vehicle on battery is not the solution. IC engines have proven them over a long time where as evs are there in early stage. I remember there was a scooter launched in india somewhere 10 or 15 years back 'Yo bike'. At that time also people thought that ev is the future.

@@prasoonkumar97 , Shivamogga, Karnataka. Initially they quoted 5 months waiting period, but got one allocated. One reason for the quick allottment might be that the dealership started selling EVs very recently ( maybe from the past 2 to 3 months) . Max bookings are still new here. If Tata has some quota for every dealer during car assigment, then it maybe that my number might have come earlier. Also since the EV team is new, they are very responsive and are trying to get a good image with new EV customers. The higher ups in the dealership are taking special care to ensure the EV sales grow in the city. This may be the 2nd reason. Third reason might be with my choice of varient. Most of the bookings of Max are happenning for the top of the line XZ+ Lux varient. Maybe percentage of people going for XZ+ is less. And the last possible reason might be that Tata has really ramped up the production. Please check with your dealer once. They might say months of waiting period. Pressurise them a bit, they will get one assigned soon. Btw in which city are you booking?

California has had hydeogen cars for so long but its sales and growth has stagnated due to these reasons and the current owners cannot go outside CA due to no hydrogen pumps anywhere. @shas312
@shas312 Жыл бұрын
@@abhilashg1368 , We dont store petrol under high pressure. Any flamable gas under high pressure is dangerous. Lithium usage in batteries is heavily overestimated. A LFP battery at max has 230 g/ kWh of lithium. So if you take a 30kWh battery pack ( Nexon EV Prime) , it has 6.9 kg of lithium. A 40 kWh pack ( Nexon EV Max) has around 9.2 kg of lithium. So thats not very high usage. The main weight in a battery pack is the aluminium casing for each cell, thr battery casing and the cooling system components. Also who told a battery needs replacement in a few years? A LFP battery has 3000 cycles before its capacity drops considerably. If we take 250km per charge, thats around 7.5 lakh km. A well cooled battery must easily outlast the use period of a car. If the car is scrapped, the batteries can be used for stationary storage. After that, it can be recycled to obtain lithium which can be used to make new batteries again. Thats the reason Tata themselves are giving 8 year warranty on the battery pack. So its a myth that batteries need to be replaced in a few years. I am saying this on my experience too. I am using Ather from the past 3.5 years. Ather uses NMC cells which are known for having less cycles. Even with that, I have seen around 4% of battery range degradation in 3.5 years, that too when its just an air cooled battery. With this rate, I can easily use it for many more years without any replacement. So a liquid cooled LFP battery in Nexon with a more sophisticated BMS should easily outlast the car.

Setup a solar ongrid plant according to your monthly electricity consumption. If your consumption is 500units per month go for 5kw system. Its better to go with hybrid inverter so that you can use solar power to charge batteries as well. Ev and ongrid solar will make your fuel expense to zero.

It's a three phase house, even in our old house that is three phase the load sanctioned is 25 KVA. This is a far bigger property... got it doubled checked it's 50KVA allocation for this location. If you have 3-4 AC running continuously with other heavy appliances in summer you need at-least 15KVA allocation, most independent house, villa do get at-least 20 KVA with 3 phase connection.

@geekyranjit: Currently my home has a single phase connection with a sanctioned load of 4 kw. Can I charge my car with a 3.3 kw AC charger and run 2 nos. of 1.5 TON ACs? Can a 7.2 Kw AC charger be installed in a house with single phase connection? Is it safe to charge my car with a 7.2 Kw AC charger and run heavy duty appliances like ACs, Geysers ? So mota mota calculation: 10 KW additional load fixed cost would be approx 1500/month. Using 3 KW charger, it takes approx 16 hrs to fully charge, so 48 kWh for a single full charge. Assuming Rs.10/unit, it's Rs.480 for a single charge. Assuming 100 km run per day which is typical in Delhi NCR, it wud be 8 full charges a month (excluding weekends). Total cost comes out to approx Rs.5400. That's extremely economical😊

For us in Hyderabad, fixed charges on contracted load are ₹10/KW. We have 5kw as contracted load and got it upgraded to 10kw so as to take fast charger. Now we are paying just ₹50 extra in fixed charges. I don't know why these fixed charges are so high in Delhi, maybe are you meaning that penalty charges for additional load?

What's the effect on battery due to charging them with different chargers? Do we see a drop in the performance? Is it recommended to charge with only one to get better performance in the long run?
@jasonred1258

It is very interesting question. As the chemistry is changing so is the battery capacities as well as charging. Keeping it simple: Charging it using the regular slow Level1 chargers 1.1 to 3.2Kw and the Level2 (wall chargers) 7.2Kw - 11.5Kw and charging the battery only to 80% and not letting the battery go below 20% will be optimal for the battery life it extends the battery life from 300 cycles (if you discharge to near 0 and change to 100 every time) and you do this once a week, your battery will last (300cycles x 7weekly) / 365 days = 5.75 years or lower. However if you keep the battery between 20% - 80% most of the time the battery life can increase to 1000+ cycles and that would mean your battery can last 16 to 20 years. Actually some car, phone, laptop manufacturers auto cut off at 80% (it shows 100% for us) but the battery is bigger and is actually using 80% - Hence, increasing the battery life with out our control (smart). Hope this helps.
@sriyudh
@sriyudh Жыл бұрын
Tata recommends charging to 100% as it does some battery calibration or conditioning which will help improve battery performance and durability. Mobile phones batteries work in a different way where it is better to keep the battery level between 20-80%

EV is only recommended for City Drive at present.. Even for a short 250km drive, it’ll give you jitters & unnecessary stress.. You better rent a car or have a 2nd car which is Petrol/ Diesel if you have to travel long..

This 7.2 kW charger is also technically not a fast charger and in the Z connect apps when you charge with this, it shows as slow charge only. Fast charging is DC fast charging.
@advikas_lifestyle

7.2kw is not that high to damage the battery. Usually, DC charging which happens at 25-30KW is harmful if done very frequently.
