There are not enough superlatives to describe him. He's a legend off and on the field, a beautiful, kind person. He's too humble to mention it, but I'm glad Chris did - the personal and financial sacrifices he has made, for the betterment of the club, to keep this group together, to achieve success... There are countless stories about him. He does so much off the field that people don't know or see. Enjoy what comes next legend 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

Thank you to Geelong social media for the good audio and subtitles. You can barely hear the questions at AFL press conferences, and the broadcasters/uploaders don't bother fixing it. Thanks for the extra effort and quality. 👍🏼

I wish there was an award the club could name after him. I'm glad Tommy Harley got the best clubman award named after him but that would've been perfect for Sel. I'm sure they'll find a fitting way to honor such a legend of the club, perhaps by keeping the #14 our of circulation for a while or even having every subsequent captain wear it. No matter what It was just a joy to watch his whole career.

So much respect for these men in front of us. Particularly Joel. Absolute legend, of the game and in society, what he stands for, Caring, putting others first. Being selfless. Beautiful to see. A massive loss to the game, but have to be grateful for what Joel gave to the game, and to the Cats. If only what Joel is could be bottled. Joel you already have lived a life well lived, and earnt the bright, fun, happy future you have in front of you. Loving wife, first child on the way. All the very best to you, your family and the poor Cats who have to go on without you, but what a blessing having you behind them is going forward. Thank you for entertaining us Joel. Love from an ever hopeful Freo supporter in Bunbury 💜⚓🙏🏼🏆

Not many from opposing teams liked this guy a great deal, because of dubious free kick technique. But GF day his actions and his character became obvious to all, before during and after the game. A true great of our sport. Much respect from a North supporter.
@WillPage2 жыл бұрын
Too anchious to tackle him. All players play for free kicks, in the back falling forward, dropping the knees, driving their head into opponents mid section. The fact is, when you are always, in the thick of it, in and under, contested and gritty, and you are annoyingly good at what you do, you will be taken high all the time. Technique or not, no player has had their head nearly ripped off as often as Joel. I never use the word legend, as it's a gross overstatement, but in Joel's case it's utterly fitting.
