Her sister Haridarshan Kaur produced Guru Dutt's Jaal (1952) known for Ye Raat Ye Chandani Phir Kahan song. Her husband was a very good friend of Guru Dutt and would often play badminton with him.

She was very close to Guru Dutt who died in Oct 1964 whereas she passed away in Jan 1965. Her sister Haridarshan Kaur even produced Jaal for Guru Dutt. Bhagwan Dada gave her a new dimension and Guru Dutt shot her beautifully on the Malvan coast near Goa in Sahir's Ye Raat Ye Chandni Phir Kaha. Alas! Great talents die young.

I like Gurudat's acting a lot. But it was geeta Bali who gave gurudatt a break as an actor in the film Baaz. The bottom line is it's geeta Bali who recognized the true potential of gurudat as an actor. And oh my got! What an acting, gurudatt did in the film pyaasa. Somewhere for the success story of pyaasa, a credit should also be given to geeta bali as it is she who gave a break through to gurudatt as an actor. Isn't it?
