நான் பனகல் பார்க் எதிரில் இருக்கும் ராமகிருஷ்ணா பள்ளியில் 1969 batch. அப்போ 1965 மாதிரி வருடங்களில் ஒரு மசால்தோசை ஒரு காபி சாப்பிட்டால் 50 காசுகள்தான். அதன் சுவை அவ்வளவு அருமையாக இருக்கும். இன்றும் அதை அப்படீயே மெயின்டன் பண்றாங்க. இதன் முதலாளி திரு கோபால் என் இனிய நண்பர். நாங்கள் 1989 ல் எங்களின் எக்ஸ்னோரா மீட்டிங்கை அந்த ஓட்டலின் மொட்டை மாடியில்தான் நடத்துவோம். திரு கோபால் அவர்கள் எக்ஸ்னோராவில் அவருடைய தெருவின் தலைவராக இருந்தார். அப்போது இந்த கீதா கேஃப்க்கு எதிரிலேயேயும் எங்கள் பள்ளியின் அருகிலேயும் இரண்டு கிளைகள் இருந்தன. இவர்களுக்கு போட்டி ஓட்டல் நாராயணன் கேஃப். இப்போது அது இல்லை

We have been eating here for do bath years, my father had eaten a full meals here in for one rupee in 1970’s, my favourite is the cutlet, my paati’s favourite is the tomato soup here 😀

Hi Kiruthiga, ‘cafe’ is pronounced with the ’e’ as an ‘ey’ sound, like ‘hey’. You may have studied it - it’s a French word. Since you like chaat, have you gone to Ajnabi in Egmore and Gangotree (RK Salai) You may like that also. They were best places in 80s and 90s for chaat. Should be part of you pride of Chennai series along with Grand Sweets!

10 anna means 60 paise that is equal as 600 rupees now...my grandma said they went for daily wage for 2.5 anna means 15 paise....with that they can buy enough groceries for a day.

சென்னை பாண்டி பஜாரில் மிக மிக பழமையானது கீதா கேப் மற்றும் கேரளா முடித்திருத்தகம். ஜெயராம ஐயரால் ஆரம்பிக்க பட்டது. கால் 3.30 மணிக்கு மாடுகள் வந்து பால் கறக்கும். ஜெயராம ஐயர் மாப்பிள்ளை பால் வாங்கும் போது இடி விழுந்து மாப்பிள்ளை இறந்து விட்டார். பட்டாபி என்பவர் என்னுடன் ராமகிருஷ்ணா மெயின் பள்ளியில் படித்தார். இவர்களது வீடு கோட்ஸ் ரோடில் இருந்தது. நான் 65 வருடங்களுக்கு முன் நடந்தது. தரமான சாப்பாடும் பலகாரமும் கீதா கேப்பை தவிர வேறு எங்கும் கிடைக்காது. கடந்த 70 ஆண்டுகளாக தி.நகரில் வசித்து வருகின்றேன். நான் இப்போது இங்கு வந்து சாப்பிட்டதில்லை.

In fact Geetha cafe first started in 1953/54 at venkatanarayana next to T.Nagar Social club subsequently started in Pondy Bazaar then in Mount Road near G.P. O.. Their Tiffin Idly,Medu Vada, Dosa, Ghee Pongal, Bhajji etc.is very popular and also very tasty mouth watering with good aroma. Lunch is very special nothing comparable other hotel in Chennai. Then they started multi storied boarding and lodging at near Eithraj College. college

Krishnan was my classmate in Ramakrishna main school T.Nagar. Madras 17 ( now it is chennai). Tasty food was always available in those days. Sorry that we have missed him but his memory continues.
