So four Clones were able to cripple Geonosian leadership and effectiveness. That proves that if the CIS hadn't upgraded Droids so they could run independent from the Control Ships, then this Battle and the entire war could have been over right then and there. If the Droids were shut down before the Clones arrived and then Delta Squad got to work breaking the Geonosians leadership and cohesion, then the Clones would have been able to steamroll right to the ships and CIS leadership without too much difficulty.

They weren't just any 4 clones though, they were the most effective clone commando squad, they lost no members and were extremely capable of engaging in their specific mission profile of sabotage, assassination and guerilla warfare

I don't know, and it's been a long time since I saw the episode, but my theory is that the Republic believed the Separatists had taken that base and sent Delta Squad to kill all the droids and recapture the base. They didn't know Savage would just kill everyone and leave without any droids to take the base.

Clone commandos had special katarn armor instead of the standard clone armor. Katarn class armor was a bulkier stronger armor that had a built-in shield generator. There were actually 3 generations of katarn armor, katarn mark 1, katarn mark 2 and katarn mark 3. Katarn mark 1 armor was only ever used on kamino during training and they entered the war using the mark 2 armor. They ended up getting their mark 3 armor around the same time that the regular rank and file clones got their phase 2 armor. I hope that answered your question without giving you information that you didn't want or need.
