There was 900 years of learning. 900 years of experience. 900 years of meeting diverse beings with different emotions and motives, 900 years of supposed wisdom. And yet, he learned nothing until the last 20 years of his life. If you're slow, could be worse. You could be Yoda.

A big thing in form 3 people miss is that obi wan could control the pace of the fight and lead his opponents where he wanted or pick up on details in the environment that people miss and yes obi wan won the fight with anakin for multiple reasons but remember anakin chased obi wan not the other way around was it difficult absolutely but obi wan was patient and controlled the complete opposite of anakin in that fight

Lucas said he was afraid Grevious would be seen as too much like Vader… yet Durge and Grevious have incredibly similar traits and personalities yet both are super unique and distinguished…

In my opinion the only 3 Jedi at the time that could be grevious in Disney canon are yoda kit fisto and obi wan there were others but those three were the only Jedi during clone wars era that could be grevious

Obi-Wan really reminds me of that quote by Confucius: "The superior man is distressed by the limitations of his ability; he is not distressed by the fact that men do not recognize the ability that he has."

Repulsorlift vehicles are electromagnetic? That's the implication of repulsorlift engines being unreliable due to high levels of erratic electromagnetic energy sunce military equipment is routinely heavily shielded against things that could interfere with their performance.

Pretty sure this assumption IS wrong. Seeing as apparently TOP TIER Jedi CAN and repeatedly DID. apparently the secret IS Council Members. Since Kit, an Mace ALSO did this 1 v 1 too. The others either specific missions WASNT to bring Grevious in or take him out barring that. Since Fisto deadlocked him an EASILY coulda took the offense and ended him in fheir fight if he TRULY wanted or felt the need to. And Mace LITERALLY ALMOST soda canned him and left him fit for a random Star Destroyer's trash dumpster... HIS decision not to literally Force Crush Grevious an or finish him in any number other ways while he was vulnerable was the ONLY reason Grevious limped away from that fight too.. was cuz MACE allowed that one too. An if i remember right DIDNT Dooku intentionally tell him NOT to ever engage Yoda IF a time ever happened they wound up in same place at the same time... Openly feeling that the pint size Jedi Grandasskicker would literally reduce Grevious, MOST LIKELY, to random spare parts if they ever fought???

People sometimes think that Grevious was weakened. But he’s always been the same character. On Hypori, he only engaged the Jedi after destroying their fleet and decimating their troops and (smartly) retreated from the LAAT with twin repeating turrets and missiles. Likewise in his lair, after he was almost captured by Kit Fisto and company , he retreated until all the Clones were slain. His goal has always been to fight another day, even if it means leaving a fleeting or army behind. Because as talented a duelist as he was, his greatest weapon was psychological warfare.
@bernardoayres1139Күн бұрын
The in the clone wars micro series we see a moment of Grevious training with Dooku. Dooku altright tell Grevious that he was never to engage jedis in open fight unless he had the advantage of surprise, fear or numbers. In short, Grevious was to act as "shock and awe" unity when in open combat and was ordered to retreat as soon as he lost momentum

Its important to remember, legends Grievous arguably had been crippled by getting his organs force-crushed by mother-f***ing Mace Windu. In old legends canon, the cough only happened after that, meaning he was using his organs in his chest. It would be very strange to argue he was at full strength. especially since Grievous decided to call off all the droids when he never had issues wearing jedi out before (Hypori comes to mind...) which suggests he wasn't thinking straight (the agony of your organs being crushed would tend to do that). In "canon", TCW Grievous always coughed, and never meaningfully threatened jedi masters and council members in a pure 1-on-1, and in that show only ever was portrayed as able to dominate a Jedi utterly when engaging padawans. Its also important to note how in the ROTS film, if you pay careful attention to the choreography, Grievous politely never actually attacks Obiwan with all four blades simultaneously, or just misses with no chance of any hitting. The choreography for Grievous is frankly terrible in the film, which stands out in stark contrast compared to the Obiwan/Anakin duel in the same movie (that latter duel having some of the BEST choreography in the franchise).

Its easy to forget with the ROTS film's and TCW show's rather underwhelming portrayal of the character that in old legends lore Grievous could stalemate MACE WINDU in pure lightsaber combat, and in the battle of Coruscant stomped a rested Shaak Ti with the help of two other experienced jedi masters who were operating at full strength (unlike the Hypori fight),

And yet ... Grievous would have won ... Bcs even tho Obi-Wan was defense incarnated, even tho Obi-Wan was master of his style, even tho he never did even a millimeter more than he had to ... he decided to kick Grievous in his DURASTELL leg. -_- And the only thing that actually saved the "best and only Jedi who could ever win against Grievous" was that George Lucas decided to cheat. :D :P

gad damnit. i hate it every time you say "the Jedi arent perfect" as a defence everytime they participate in mass murder and genocide. Its really fvcking irritating how DISMISSIVE and hand-wavy you are when excusing participation in genocide . You dont have to be "perfect" to NOT commit genocide. But nah, your precious Jedi were just fine with being used as weapons by a Republic they know is corrupt. NO ONES PERFECT. But as a Religious organization thats supposed to be GOOD, then they should be GOOD people!!!, and NOT JOIN the Republics REPEATED ACTS OF GENOCIDE! "durrrr, theyre not perfect" is just fvcking r3tarded excuse.

Um… Obi-Wan never actually defeated Grievous in any of their duels. It both legends and canon, their duels almost always ended in a stalemate, usually because of Grievous running away. In canon, Grievous defeated Obi-Wan once and that was in the unfinished Clone Wars episode. The only real time Obi-Wan ever defeated Grievous was in Revenge of the Sith and ironically enough, it wasn’t due to a lightsaber but rather a blaster of all things. So, you got some details wrong.
