Anyone with the pockets deep enough and inclination to nerdy number crunching will only ever own a rig and never care when it becomes a truly specialist sector For the rest of us , assuming an actual modern connection standard is used and not effing telephone wiring from the 50's 😂 This is the perfect bridge between console ease and rig performance I'm sold

Excellent video! This is probably the first and only video on KZbin that truly demonstrates all the details of the biggest issue of cloud gaming: compression. Months ago I thought I'm losing my mind when I'm noticing worse quality on my cloud gameplay when compared to my local PC, because I talked to some people about it and they often say they don't see a difference between cloud and local. I'm glad other people can see it now! In some games compression is a lot worse sadly, especially during movement. Sometimes it breaks the immersion and makes me wish I had a powerful GPU instead. But the cheap cost of GFN is important to me. btw did you use AV1 codec for the GFN in this video? I was hoping AV1 would eliminate more compression when compared to H265. As always thank you a lot for your content!
@playcloudpluspc9 ай бұрын
Thank you so much and I absolutely agree with everything you said, I'm really glad you loved the video. Yes, I was using AV1 (the default on my RTX 3080 when using GFN). The H265 vs AV1 test is coming in a future video.

Yes, when I game I always look for a 500x zoom blur on the vegetation???😮
@playcloudpluspc6 ай бұрын
I show both zoomed and normal to highlight any differences and whether they are also visible in normal play, you can then decide whether the quality is acceptable. Nice hyperbole though (I do not use 500X zoom).

@playcloudpluspc6 ай бұрын
@@prophet9240 I can see the imperfections without zooming in as shown in the video, it's just more obvious when you zoom in. If you don't notice them then that's great and shows that GFN's image quality in this game is more than sufficient for you.

I have the same issues in Destiny 2. The textures look not sharp and the colors are not perfect. I see/feel the difference without any zooms. I feel it while exploring the world. Geforce Now Ultimate is the best cloud gaming you can get and still not good enough. The Image looks better on my RTX 4070, even if the settings are high and not ultra.
@playcloudpluspc3 ай бұрын
@@David-ox2ij I agree, the Talos Principle 2 looks better on my PC with some settings on medium than on GFN with everything set to Epic. However, some games look indistinguishable from a local PC to me, it's strange how the quality varies so dramatically depending on the game.

Nice vid buddy! I like the idea of what they are doing and its pretty okey at this point. If they can get rid of the blurryness in movement this will be huge and perfectly fine for me

Thank you so much. I'm sure they will get rid of the blurriness one day when they start using more bandwidth and as they use ever more efficient codecs.

Very great video! Tbh in most games it looks “good enought”. As i dont have enough money to buy a 4080, geforcenow is the ideal way to experience path tracing. Amazing tech for what it does

Thank you and I completely agree, in most games I can't tell the difference between my PC and GFN. Only in games with lots of vegetation can you see the difference sometimes, but even then it's not bad.
@Joao-sd7kh5 ай бұрын
@@playcloudpluspc yep! And you can improve the quality by doing that work around that let you use more bitrate…but for now, it kinda breaks the stream because it stutters a bit. Maybe in the future they will improve it natively. Great channel!

Hi, I also play with GeForce Now Ultimate I had a question to ask. it's normal that when I play the images from afar appear blurry as if the game would always have motion blur activated. I have no line problems or anything that could compromise streaming. thank you very much if you answer me.
@playcloudpluspc9 ай бұрын
I think it is normal (although it varies depending on the game), but you can check whether you are having any obvious problems by pressing Ctrl+N (Cmd+N on Mac) while in-game and checking the stream's resolution matches your monitor's resolution and that you are not getting lots of packet loss and/or frame loss (some is normal). You could also try forcing your monitor's resolution in the GFN settings, forcing the maximum bitrate and unticking 'adjust for poor network conditions' to see whether that makes any difference. There is also an internet speed test here you can run. Lastly you could try switching to Ethernet if on WiFi and vice versa.
@MarcelloVenuso9 ай бұрын
@@playcloudpluspc yes I have already done all this and I play with ethernet I don't have any connection problems. I simply play in 2k 120fps. for example when I play Assassin's Creed Valhalla and I'm on a horse or running it seems that the image drops to 400p instead of being at 2k I don't know if I explained myself well.
@playcloudpluspc9 ай бұрын
@@MarcelloVenuso I believe it's just a limitation of the technology that is more obvious in certain scenarios than others. You explained yourself very well, I was just giving you a few things to check. All these problems should very much diminish as Nvidia improves the technology, codecs improve and Nvidia uses more of our internet connection's bandwidth. In Valhalla you could try DLSS which overrides the game's antialiasing which can blur textures. Also, make sure 'adaptive quality' in the game settings is off because this is a sort of dynamic resolution that can degrade the image and is not necessary on an RTX 4080.
