OK Kirsten, I can see I am going to be binge watching your videos and will need a favourites playlist all of your own! Your experimentation and ability to think of really cool and unusual ways to make marks and patterns is so inspiring. What on earth am I actually going to do today? So much new stuff to try!

This is brilliant! It’s exactly what I was looking for - a new way to use material at hand, no buy, and so cool. Thank you so much. Wishing you and your family all the best.

And you Kristine!! I do think there’s a lot of potential with just bending and curving some long strips to make some good stamps. I resent the price of foam stamps, why are they so expensive?

I was so excited to see that you had posted a video! Missed watching your creations and loved this innovative way of stamping. Glad you liked the card - have a wonderful Christmas 💕

I deliberately waited cos I wanted to show your card on the video and surprise you!! It’s hard having the time to make a good video, as my head is full of college projects and it’s distracting. If I’m distracted I see it in the video when I’m editing and it doesn’t feel good enough. I loved my card and angel. The purple jewel star is on my tree ❤️

Kirsten, I love all the different stamps you’ve made to make beautiful marks and designs. I’ve been trying to figure out how to make the vertical and horizontal lines, and now I’ll get my sewing machine out and create what you have. Thanks!

Thanks joann!! I love to use what we have around, especially as all the designs are unique to us. I’m hopeful these should last a long time too, might lose a bit of detail but they are sturdy. You know I’ll have at least 100 of these by end of the week!!

Thank you!!! I like the thin lines it creates. Not sure how many gel plate sessions the lines will stay crisp for…but I reckon at least 5 anyway, plus they’ll still make blocky marks and are easy to make.

At least I know what to expect now, so in the new year I can be more organised to try make time for more videos, even if it’s just a quick one to say hi. I started art school to get knowledge for videos!!! 😂❤️

What beautiful stamps! Maybe adding some Liquitex Slo-Dri to your paint will keep it wet longer?
@quirkyqueens13 күн бұрын
Hi Katanya, that’s a brilliant idea. I have some retarder I could try. I have water based block printing ink but it reactivates with water which is so annoying. It’s slow drying but not permanent so I prefer not to use it. SLO-dri sounds a much better option. Thank you ❤️

Love these! I tried a similar idea with toilet paper rolls and they were not as easy to work with so I quickly gave up. Long pieces of paper would be so much better!
@quirkyqueens13 күн бұрын
Hi Karen, I tried it with cardboard too (the outer box with a layer of corrugated too). It gave a couple of goes but then gets a bit mushy. I think the coffee table books are good quality and sized which makes them more water resistant. It’s all trial and error, more of what I’ve tried doesn’t work but then you get an accidental good thing…which is how I discover most things 🤪 Toilet paper tubes have so many uses, I suppose we need to let them have the odd fail 😂. I wonder how they’d stand up if the sides were sealed with glue, then dried before rolling into a shape actually 🤔. That could have potential 🤓
@karenclarkcreations13 күн бұрын
@quirkyqueens as I was reading your comment I was thinking, "hmmm, I wonder if I could add a layer of gesso to seal them and maybe they won't get mushy?" Trial and error is the most fun way to create, in my opinion! Thanks!
@quirkyqueens13 күн бұрын
@ we’ll always find a way!!! 😂 it’ll be good to have different thicknesses to the lines too, so sealing it is probably the best way to go. I might go hunt some toilet roll tubes for myself now 😂
