I am so happy to have found your 2nd channel. I LOVE watching your relationship with each other. What a breath of fresh air to see how much you get along and how calm your voices are. It’s a pleasure to watch you work together. I bet there are a lot of mothers and daughters wish they had the same relationship you have with each other.

I always like the fact that you show us the "Um, could've done better" ones and not just the perfect ones, it really shows others that there is a learning curve to all things we try to do and that we can't be perfect everytime, and as you show us with practice comes perfection. Thank you Gail and Alex.

So true. I've had so many prints come out bad(or at least not how I envision), that I'll find myself getting frustrated, wondering how others make it look so easy. Seeing other people going through the trial and error helps me feel less frustrated and more willing to give it another go and just treat it more like an experiment.

You can stamp on to the gel plate, wait until it dries and then put a thin coat of contrasting colour on top and then lift a print. The wet ‘top coat’ lifts the dried stamping. Beware; gel plates are addictive.

@@Karyn1000 I think Karen means, the first color is applied to the stopper, then stamp it onto the clean gel plate. Dry, then add contrasting color. It would have a very distinct background color that way.

Well done ladies. Even though it appears what you have pressed into the initial paint layer is gone after the first pull, try adding more paint and pulling another print. I've seen gel artisans able to pull several from one impression. It does become quite artsy as you go, but the results are lovely.

Your layering on of two colors was so successful. I can see how what you were doing is more complex than using stencils or stampers because of the glass. You got some beautiful results!

You both got there in the end and I loved the shimmer it gave, I think these would look cool on t/shirts, I wonder if you could just turn the gel plate with the prints on over on top of material/ T/shirt then roller the back to press it down then gently peel away the gel plate to transfer the print???🤔you could try on an old T/shirt and if it works well get some fabric paints👍🏼

Wonderful! That red and gold one at 16:29 is stunning! Just a couple of tips: avoid using a hairdryer (unless it's on the cold setting) because it can ruin your gel plate. And, if you have an extra plain sheet ready (white or coloured) you can stamp it with your bottle tops once you've pressed them into your gel plate. The impressions are better if the surface under your paper isn't too hard (a magazine or something similar does the trick) Also, I have several gel plates by 2 different brands. The one you have is the less expensive version, and I've noticed recently that after 2 years of constant use, my plates by this manufacture are starting to get really sticky and sort of dissolve, whereas my plates of the more expensive brand are fine. So, 2 years of usage is still pretty good and it may be worth it if you are going to use your plate for just a few projects. But, if you are an artist and plan to use them regularly, the extra spend be might better.

Here is something to try for fabric. Get heavy paper (we call it cardstock), or even chip board (kind of like the cardboard crackers might come in). Get some spray adhesive that is positionable. Get your choice of fabric (some may work better than other muslin works well). Spray your paper/chipboard with the spray adhesive. Let it dry. Cut a piece of fabric a little larger than your paper. Lay your fabric on the sprayed paper/chipboard. Then lay the whole thing on your design you are printing. I would probably use the roller to really get the paint into the fabric. It would be a more even pressure. Hope Ive explained it well enough. I dont know if the gel pad can only be used with acrylic paints, but you could try inks. I am not sure what they are called. But they are used for printing from linoleum blocks. Thanks for sharing your project!
