Thank you! I have been looking for a review for this ammo, I am starting out on AK's myself so I am hoping to learn more along the way!

If the barrel had been standard length the bullet would have done even more fragmenting and the core may have exited the gel block

Nice video! Hopefully other suppliers will fill the void left by the lack of Russian ammo. I’m going to your website now to check out 5.45x39

Not enough demand and no one wants to pay Domestic overhead prices. there is a reason why Hornady is so expensive. OTOH it's the closest thing we have to a match 5.45 cartridge. I can consistently hit human sized steel torso out to 600 yards when I am prepping for AK 2-gun matches.

@@winkleriedYou just convinced me to try some Hornady! The weird thing is here in Maryland 7.62x39mm AKs are banned, but we can still buy 5.45 and 5.56 Kalashnikovs. I’ve heard 5.56 AKs are inherently less reliable since 5.56 isn’t tapered. I find the 5.45 AK to be much more accurate than my 7.62 AKs (which are still legal to possess). Remember when 5.45 7N6 was the cheapest thing you could buy; practically as cheap as .22 LR? Now you can’t buy it at any price and the Hornady is a dollar per round. Anyway, my point is that I don’t understand why 5.45 would be less popular than 7.62x39. If I could only have one, make mine the AK-74!

I imagine the tragic war in Ukraine is providing plenty of demand for 5.45x39mm ammo even if it were made outside of Russia.

@@Maryland_Kulak After finding consistent 5.45 became very problematic, i started using a Zastava M-90 as my primary competition rifle with my 74 as a back up rifle. That M-90 never showed any issues with reliability. The reason for the lack of 5.45 popularity is that 5.56 is king in this country.

I got a bunch of blown primers and malfunctions in my 74
