3作目でアルバスとゲラートの関係がよく描かれるから、マッツは適役だったと思う。ジョニデはどちらかと言えばヴォルデモートタイプで、ほんまに何考えてるか分からん悪者タイプ。アルバスを殺すのとか躊躇なさそう。序盤で、アルバスの方がまだゲラートに対する想いが残ってるんじゃ、、、と思わせておいて、実はもうとっくに覚悟ができてた。未練があるのはゲラートの方だったから、それをジョニデがするかと言われたら違和感がある。だけど、ジョニデは1,2作目でヴォルデモートに負けない、それまでの魔法界の悪のイメージを作り出すのにとても適していた。アルバスとゲラートを描くならマッツで、ニュートとテセウスとか主人公サイドの最愛を奪うのはジョニデが良かった。どちらも最高すぎる。

アルバスとアバーフォースがクリーデンスを守り、それにより血の呪いが解けて、アルバスとグリンデルバルトが一瞬の間に戦う流れ胸熱すぎる

Jude Law is just perfect as Dumbledore, I just can't choose who I like better as Grindelwald. Johnny Depp looks creepy and awesome as Grindelwald, but most of all plays him charmingly and convincingly. Mads Mikkelsen doesn't look that exciting, but as many people say he does look more like someone Dumbledore could have loved. And Mads is also better at playing Grindelwald's dark and scary side in my opinion. Overall, I didn't really like the movie, but this moment gave me chills. The shock wave from Dumbledore's sudden force, the Blood Pact floating and bursting in the air, the music, the "physical way they fight". It all makes you realize that this is not their last legendary duel, but the end of their love. They are now ready to go head to head for real. I really like their relationship, and I get really sad when WB doesn't make another movie. In my opinion they just need to take their time to make a good script and the CGI also needs to get better. They just have to make one fourth and final movie that is super epic, contains their legendary duel and also closes the film series well. Edit: I heard Johnny Depp might return as Grindelwald. That would be super cool I think but at the same time it would mess up the series even more. If that happens, we have a different Grindelwald each movie. A bit confusing if you ask me.

@Somebody Yes, in a way, it was good we got 2 actors to play him. To be clear, I *hate* what WB did to Depp. But when he played we were shown his charismatic, strategic and scary behaviour. Mads showed us the more emphatic side of him regarding Dumbledore. Both were phenomenal. Well put!

Both Mads Mikkelsen and Johnny Depp were great as Grindelwald. I personally prefer Mads because his Gellert is more similar to Dumbledore than Depp’s and because we see his human side with Dumbledore. Mikkelsen is the Grindelwald I always imagined reading books.

@@DemonicInfinity in an interview last year Mikkelsen answering a question about the recast said that Depp might return because he won the trial. I think that Mikkelsen said it as a mere hypothesis, not as a sure thing.

What makes an epic movie duel more epic is the backstory, the context, the feeling, the emotion, and the reason for the fight. For example, Anakin vs. Obi-Wan, Rocky vs Drago.

前回までロクに魔法を使えなかったアウレリウス（クリーデンス）が今回であの強さですからね💦 ダンブルドア一族の規格外の強さがわかりますよね😂 そもそも昔妹のアリアナが死んでしまったのはアルバス、アバーフォース、グリンデルバルドの三つ巴のデスマッチの巻き添えが原因ですし。。。多少の差はあれどほぼ互角とみて良いのではないのでしょうか☝️

The controversy regarding the replacement of Depp is what ended this franchise. A greedy company believed a vile, lying woman without proof and we will never see the final duel between Grindelwald and Dumbledore on screen because of that.

The only way to “block” a killing curse is with a physical object like a wall or “Priori Incantatem” which is when two wands connect like toms and Harry’s do all the time. Normally Priori Incantatem only happens if both wands have cores that came from the same source, in tom and Harry’s case their wands have phoenix feather core that came from dumbledores phoenix. But if the cores came from two different phoenixes then it wouldn’t happen. But the elder wand is anything but normal and saying that little is known about it would be an understatement. So there is a possibility that the elder wand is “universal” and Priori Incantatem can happen with any wand. It truly is one of a kind so there isn’t anything to compare it to

血の誓いが破れる展開が必要なのはわかるけど、アバーフォース＋アウレリウスとグリンデルバルドの決闘が見たかったわ、このあとのダンブルドアとグリンデルバルドは最終決戦するわけだし、まぁその3人でやったらどっちが勝ってもパワーバランスがおかしいから仕方ないけど

@@The.Jedi.Wizard they all definitely saw the similarities when they fought, last time they fought, it was like a duel of fate and one of them killed ariadne and they dont know who, now they fight to protect aurelius dumbledore and when its clear to aberforth that he doesnt want to fight against the two of them again he just helps aurelius, something he knew he shouldve done for ariadne

It's rage and lust for Power, Credence/Aurelius was nothing more but a Weapon to him. But due to Credence hearing Albus' Side of the story he couldnt kill him. Grindelwald forgave him that, but after finding out that there was another Shile (I dont remember how it is spelled) he was filled with rage for Credence's Mistake being that fatal to his plans. And then Credence turned actively against him during his attempt to become the "rightful leader" of the Wizarding World, a weapon Rebelling against his Master is of no use for him.

個人的な予想だと、死の呪文を撃った後ダンブルドアは、守る呪文を唱えたことにより空想上でグリンデルバルドと戦ったのかなと(血の誓いの効果で2人だけの意識の中で、決闘した為呪文は、現実世界では解除されたのかなと)その後破れた理由は殺そうとして撃った呪文と守ろうとして撃った呪文で戦った為、血の誓いの効果は、無効されたのかなと、それかニワトリの杖の効果で分霊箱のように壊れたと推測してます。

I like Mads more than Johnny though as Grindelwald. Johnny’s portrayal was good but too eccentric but Mads feels like a charismatic and powerful leader who rivals one of the greatest known wizard of his generation and on his way to world domination.

@@Raziel132 The Elder wand doesn't really make a wizard powerful. It's the same as any other wand, the only thing it can uniquely do is repair other wands. It's just like people who buys Iphone over android. Android does the same thing as Iphone with lesser price but people still want the Iphone anyway for the prestige. Another reason is that the Elder Wand can sense and gauge the power of wizards so when its master duels a more powerful wizard, it betrays its current master to be with the more powerful one.

@@YY-mk4ti actually the elder wand make a wizard more powerfull, but Grindelwald is the first one and the last one who truly master it in the HP universe (after Ignotus, but ok i mean in the movies). And, in my and many other eyes Grindelwald is much more powerfull then Voldemort, and 100% equal to Dumbledore, probably a bit stronger

Without it, the difference is even more significant. "I knew that we were evenly matched, perhaps that I was a shade more skilful. It was the truth I feared...
