Wonderful!! I’m starting to realize the best results usually come from remembering what is hiding or being hidden in each layer. Spontaneous is fun but a little thought during the process doesn’t hurt, IMHO!

Hi Kirsten! I'm sure you will! Have you tried more paint? A different brand of paint? Other paper? Adding retarder or glazing medium to your paint? There's still so much you can try!

This looks like fun...what weight and kind of paper due you use and then could it be made into a card?
@marymccabe31114 жыл бұрын
Hi, Eileen. You could go down to your local office supply store for card stock, which comes in many colors, besides white. It's perfect for making cards. Or, you could use watercolor paper, or mixed media paper, which is also heavy enough for cards.
@22222murray4 жыл бұрын
@@marymccabe3111 Thank you Mary. I was wondering as well what paper you used, for it has taken many layers.
@marymccabe31114 жыл бұрын
@@22222murray I noticed in the Blog post that accompanied the video, Marsha says she likes to use drawing paper. That looks like the kind she was using in the video. I tend to like paper that's a bit thicker, particularly if I'm going to be collaging other paper, like magazine cutouts, on top of the acrylic layers. I've used mixed-media paper in particular which takes the multiple acrylic layers as well as collaged elements. I've not done much gel plate work in a while, as I'm working on my drawing skills right now.

Hi Eileen! It is fun! In this video I print on 200 gsm Bristol drawing paper. It's not flimsy, however, for a card I think I would go with something closer to 220 gsm. I don't really like to print with anything a lot heavier. That's just my personal preference. Smooth watercolour paper is a good choice too. Another option is to mount the print onto a heavier card. Which I like, because as Mary mentions, then you can make that any colour you want!
