I like how you used stencils that are smaller than the plate together to create an overall effect.
@debbyepps9 жыл бұрын
thanks, I like using a mixture of smaller elements so I cut several of my larger stencils down and cut several of my own too

+debby epps What material do you use when you cut your own stencils? Is the giraffe one of your own?
@debbyepps9 жыл бұрын
+Kyle Aldrich I use plastic notebook dividers from dollar tree. yes, the giraffe is my own outline from a drawing I had done in previous painting.

Yea a new brayer would be a good idea. TFS. Gave me some ideas that's for sure. What brand of gelli plate are you working with? I picked up a speedball gel plate. It's medium thickness but it looks like yours is pretty think. I wonder if that would even matter. Where do you get your stencils. The other problem I have is what to use to make designs on my plate. I have stencils and get bored with them. The credit card idea is great. Thanks again and they all came out beautiful

janette aguirre-terry I use gelli arts plates, I have speedball brayer, and I cut my own stencils on my silhouette cameo. I don't find I use other items on plate

Yep, but it didn't last so I bought a new brayer!

just a suggestion, you could have inked your mask and placed it inki side down on the gelli plate with the background paint on it ......... put your paper down, rub, then carefully lift the paper leaving one side still on the plate. Remove the mask. so now you have black in on the gelli plate of the image. put your paper back down burnish again. This way you have the colorful background and a silhouette of the giraffe

My brain is fuzzy today I guess. How would you do it, if you wanted the giraffe to be solid black by using a mask? Thanks.
@debbyepps10 жыл бұрын
there are 2 ways possible. One, I kept the plastic I cut the giraffe out of whole. You could roll black paint then lay it down and you would only print in the center. Two you could lay the mask down roll paint over the top then lift the mask off and print. Third if you lay Jim down in wet paint and print around then lift up you get a light image. Check out my video: blackout gelli with the elephant using method 2.

I try really hard to avoid it and keep baby wipe on table lol. I don't know what brand that brayer is, it came with 2 pattern rollers. I think I found it at TJ Maxx it maybe for cake decorating?
