I am really enjoying your video's this evening, think this is either 4 or 5 I have watch tonight. Love your style it looks so random but your prints are awesome …. I notice you use printed matter to, are they for just mopping up the gellie or do you use them too because they all looked awesome also. I haven't used a Gellie block yet as they are so expensive here in Australia and that's a luxury I just can't afford , so I have improvised, not fully successful enough to have some fun , it's like a mouse pad but thicker, it will do for now... Me again with more comments & questions: I've been noticing some of the cool color patterns that you've been brayering out. Have you just played with just color combinations & designs with brushes? We used a similar monoprinting technique at the Discovery Center with leaves and used damp watercolor paper to lift the prints. Some people even brushed on color to the backs of the leaves in addition to the color on the plate. Have you tried the paper or the colored leaves? Have you used phone book pages to print on? And finally, what do you use to clean the gelli pad? I read somewhere that people either use wet wipes or hand sanitizer.
@CatHand9 жыл бұрын
+Dolores J. Rush When I'm cleaning my brayer I have no plan in mind - just putting down paint. No, I haven't used damp watercolor paper, but I have used leaves in my gelli printing. I haven't used phone book pages yet, although I do use magazine pages, book pages, music sheets, & dictionary pages. I mostly use a wet wipe to clean my plate, but I have used hand sanitizer as well.

For the non magazine pages, what kind of paper did you use? ?Also which paints? Really love the use of leaves. Some of the prints look "fossil-like" which is a really cool illusion. Also like that you don't fully blend the colors so there are pockets of color.
@CatHand9 жыл бұрын
+Kyle Aldrich I use several different types of papers when I'm gelli printing, including regular printer paper, cardstock, graph paper, book pages, music pages, deli paper and junk mail. Try letting the under-layers DRY. then add paint on top. You'll get crisp wonderful prints. You're moving at a frenetic speed (even without the help from technology) and losing so many opportunities for beautiful prints. SLOW DOWN, let em dry and get some WONDERFUL PRINTS.

Clearly you know what you are doing and have a lot to show people; however, the whole thing is so fast that it's hard for a beginner to get much out of it.

Hi Betsy, Thank you for watching my video. 😊 You can control the speed of KZbin videos by clicking the three dots in the upper corner of the video you’re watching and then choosing the playback speed you want. Here is another gel printing video that I made specifically for beginners: m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/rqa7p6Npmd-VY5Y

The video doesn't give us pleasure to watch because it's too fast, it doesn't show us the result, the speed is too high for my taste.

You have the option to control the playback speed and the results were shown at the end of the video.
