Wonderful! I'm glad that you didn't edit out the struggle parts. Authentic and relatable. 😊

Your color combinations surprise me. I keep thinking you’re going to get mud but you don’t. Love how these came out!
@VikkiReed2 жыл бұрын
Sharon, thank you, yes! I realize some of those color combinations should not work, but they do! That said, not everything I do on the gelli plate works, it is always an experiment and sometimes those experiments "fail", but we press onward!

Finally the Jacaranda trees in our locale have leaves!!!! So here I go! Thanks fr sharing. I love these cards. Wondering what gsm paper you used.
@VikkiReed Жыл бұрын
Linda, yay! Enjoy...Mexican Bird of Paradise work well too! The GSM is 90 - 120, or 24 to 32 pound copy paper

Thanks for this as the holidays are coming soon. But, what the heck happened to your arm?
@VikkiReed3 ай бұрын
It seems to be chronic, I apologize, I am always having wounds on my wrists and forearms...sometimes from a feral cat I've adopted, and sometimes from trimming bougainvillea, etc, and it is unsightly to be sure...this was two years ago, and it is still happening. I should film with sleeves, and spare everyone...lol

Don't worry I also have 'kitty scars' on my arms and hands from playing with my cats. Love your gelli creations😊

Thank you! Beautiful! I am just starting out. What type of paper do you recommend for printing? What type of paper are you using to clean off your braver?
@VikkiReed Жыл бұрын
Thank you Ann! For the cards I like HP Premium 32, but a good weight of copy paper works well, at least 24 lb...for cleaning off my brayer I am using the rice paper (JapanBargain Calligraphy Rice Paper), which I use for most all other gelli prints, the ones I incorporate into mixed media collage pieces, thank you for your questions!
@annhogan2274 Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the info. It’s much appreciated. Now, to select paint. I see you use Golden brand. What weight of paint is best for the gelli pad? Is there a reasonably priced starter kit?
@cathykodra31692 жыл бұрын
These are beautiful-very cool idea! I want to try this for cards this coming year and will be hunting for ferns or other likely candidates. (My cedar trees might yield some interesting results.) I was wondering if you could use glitter on the gelli plate, or would that damage it somehow? Please let me know if you’ve ever tried it. Thank you so much for your generous video instructions- I love watching!
@VikkiReed2 жыл бұрын
Cathy, thank you for your question! I have not tried glitter on the gelli plate, I would try applying the glitter after printing, or experiment with pigments that shine.
