What kind of paper are you using ? New to this but love how u put it in your painting
@VikkiReedСағат бұрын
Hi, thanks for your question, I am using JapanBargain Calligraphy rice paper, specifically because it works so well as collage AND it pulls great prints!

Hi Vikki, I live in the UK and I have desperately been trying to purchase the Elizabeth St. Hilare stencil but I cannot source it here in the UK and Joggles are quoting me almost $50 for delivery, so that is out of the question, would you have any idea where I can source this cheaper than that, even a used one? Or can you recommend something that is similar? many thanks, love your videos x x x x
@VikkiReed13 сағат бұрын
I’ll help you if I can, which Elizabeth St. Hilare stencil? The stencils in this video are created by me and my partner in the UK, and so are very available to you and shipped reasonably!

@@VikkiReed hi Vicki, thanks so much, it's the Elizabeth St. Hilare - Klimt collection - Gustave and Emile #75012 that I am interested in
@VikkiReed8 сағат бұрын
@@user-li3ur6iu3l well, you're in luck! It just so happens that I purchased that stencil and although I am a huge fan of Elizabeth St. Hilare stencils, I have found that I just don't reach for that one very often. It is used, but very lightly, and I haven't cut it, (which I have done to many other stencils). I suggest you contact me through my website vikkireed.com/ so I can get your address and get an estimate on shipping for you. Apparently there are some fees that must be paid that increase the costs. I guess there is no way around that, but I will sell you my stencil at cost, 7.47 US , and see how everything else adds up

Lindsay, thank you for asking! The primary use for my gelli prints is as collage in mixed media art! I also turn some into greeting cards, others I mount to (birchwood) panel and then they are art pieces on their own! Also wanted to mention that I watched another KZbin artist brayer-off her extra paint into a multimedia tablet in little blocks of color and then she uses those pages to print. I thought that was a really good way to organize a whole bunch of brayered pages.

Vivian, thank you, yes, that’s a great idea! My experience is that the repeatedly bartered paper develops a texture that I don’t particularly like, so I appreciate its sacrifice for the process, I do appreciate your sharing that tip!

Do you find real flowers work best or do artificial ones work better?
@VikkiReed4 күн бұрын
Thank you, that’s a great question! I used real flowers, but as you can see, they started losing petals. Artificial flowers work, but they have to be “right”, with some you can see the texture of the material used to make the flowers. So far for me…the fresh flowers are best, but they’re only good for a few impressions
