Very interesting technique, love the way this piece turned out. That pink background is beautiful, and I love the fairy world feel of this landscape.

Really interesting technique & result. Appreciate the tutorial very much. Might I suggest dropping the music though? It wasn’t necessary since your gaps of no narration are very short & it sounded like a stuck record just playing that short excerpt, which detracted from your tutorial.

OK, I received lots of similar feedback so I’m already correcting it for future videos. I can’t do anything about this one. Thank you for the feedback

Love this, Micah! Thank you! How do you mount your panels for display when finished? Do you drop them in a floating frame or? And do you use varnish?
@micahgoguen64572 жыл бұрын
Thank you Vonalda. I have been using a point setter and putting them into open back frames. Ampersand also makes some floating frames that are nice. I use GOLDEN UV semi-gloss spray varnish when done.

Thank you! I’ve been trying some landscape layers on my gelli plate but I bet I’ll be more successful now. Fascinating process! 👍🏼

I love this Micah! When you paint over the print, do you also go from dark to light?
@micahgoguen64572 жыл бұрын
Almost always. The only time I don’t paint dark to light is when I am doing watercolor. Light usually touches the things that are most on the surface, so my paint layers are that way also.

You could use extender medium to make other acrylic paints act the same way as Golden Open.

You can use whatever suits your availability and budget. There are retarders by various brands and GOLDEN makes an OPEN gel that can be added to any acrylics. I found for myself, I preferred to buy small tubes of the primary colors. It wasn’t much more than buying the gel, I use them for other painting processes, and clean up and effort are still easier for me than using regular acrylics. Explore the process and see what works best for you.
