I remember watching that movie on French tv when I was a kid... Sometimes it's cool to watch something old-fashioned and really corny...

Marlène Jobert at that time was despised by many French women. She was clever and witty in both languages and had an unmistakable talent. No wonder why they were all jealous. And she was indeed a hot redhead with magnificent green eyes ! I so had a crush for that woman as a youngster ... Incidentally, she is also the mother of Eva Green. Fruits never fall far from the tree ...

She is very good here, but I do not like the fact the director made her take a really stupid and silly childish voice too much of the time.

Forgot to say: I cannot remember her being despised (I am 68, so I was alive then). BUT: we all commented that we did not like the way directors made her use a silly childish voice and act immature. We all knew she could do much more, hence my first post!

Out of date now but still of interest because of all the actors involved. You need to be over 70 years old to recognize them all. Not sure any would have been proud of their performance!
@annepoitrineau56505 ай бұрын
The only thing I did not like was equating homosexuality with being a spy, but one can only say that this was of its time. I am not over 70 and I recognise most of them.

I'm not over 70 either. You just need to have exposure to lots of films .

@@annepoitrineau5650Maybe they knew something we don't. People hiding their real nature and pretending to the world they're something else: seems like there's a lot of that all around us now.

I'm not over 70, and I know a lot of old school actors going right back to the 1930s . A lot of these old movies are better than the woke garbage we see nowadays.

Because otherwise, the film is very serious isn't it??? Note though, that she is running in them. That's an athletic accomplishment.

Blimey, so many delightful little vignettes: Bernard Blier as a spy drowning in an icy lake because of all the decadent stuff he could not live without. Bernadette Lafont as the cliche highly sexed French woman (I am French, so not dissing anybody here). Then that surreal chat in the lift...etc etc.

If the protagonists were Russian, why on earth were they using an East German patrol boat (the ensign had a DDR motif in the centre)...?!
@annepoitrineau56505 ай бұрын
It was within the movie's budget, most likely...
@markcoveryourassets5 ай бұрын
I thought the antagonists were Russian and would have made the exchange on the border between E and W Germanies. I also thought the lead actress was antagonizing to listen to but was good eye candy.
