Not a controller for me, the fact that you need to rely on Gemini's proprietary software in order to see your track view is a show stopper imo. At least Denon's Engine Prime lets you deal with Serato, Traktor and Rekordbox files. Still good to see that there is more competition for Pioneer's overpriced products.

Phil if they release this I'll be very surprised. Last year and the year before they told me the release was weeks or months away. I do hope it comes out, but I have honestly lost faith it will. 1000 bucks for Gemini product is far too much anyway with a Pioneer DJ XDJ-RR (with less functionality I know) at the same price point.

Sorry, Gemini, if you had come out with this YEARS ago when you first advertised it, I would have bought it then. But with all this new equipment nowadays, you lost your spot. I'm rght now getting the Denon MC7000, to be followed next year by the Prime 4 (or other one). I have to admit that Gemini's multi-year tease really turned me off. Companies should never do that.

Gemini gear is cheap for a reason. I ordered a pair of MDJ1000s a few years ago and returned them after 1 day. The latency on the jogs was awful, the build quality was atrocious and everything about them was sluggish. Save your money and go with Pioneer / Denon if you’re looking for a standalone solution, you will thank yourself down the line.

Gemini SDJ4000 is a good attempt to compete with Pioneer and Denon, but because of it's pricetag it suffers in the most important area - sound quality. Many people, especially the young ones, who aspire to be a dj or just wanting to learn how to mix music, don't take into account the sound quality sent by the source player into the mixer and then to the speakers. All budget DJ equipment, Gemini included, skimp on sound quality to keep the price down. Ultimately the user ends up with a low sound quality and this should matter most. I think all DJ equipment brands who want to establish themselves as worthy competitors to Pioneer and Denon should put better components inside their gear to improve the sound quality (signal-to-noise ratio, channel separation and total harmonyc distortions) even if this means increasing the price tag. The overall price tag still could be lower than Pioneer who can afford to be gready at this time from their position of leader. But what puts Pioneer in the top row, besides features present on their gear? Sound quality! Sound quality comes from good electronics, good mainboard circuit design, good isolation from electrical interference and good design in heat dissipation. The goal is not be situated to the budget end but to not be affraid to step up the ladder enough to offer very good quality without the greed.

I think 900€+, is to much. They could have asked this two years ago. With 900€ I rather buy a second hand pioneer rx1, a mcx 8000 or save a little more and buy the new denon prime 4. They are just a little to late. 700-800 should be more realistic.

This controller is the worst I've ever used. I have been a DJ for 30 years mixing on Denon, pioneer, vinyl and digital and recently bought this as a back up controller and I've had to use it but two weeks on and I've been struggling to get a mix completed. My USBs are the best quality, all cables are nice and firm but I get these sound drop outs and glitches during a mix even with analysis of tracks in V case. I've lost the confidence to use this as I can't trust it to perform. It's riddled with software and firmware issues and is sensitive to interference as well. Real shame as it could be a superb controller to rival the XDJ and prime 4

Have fun with awful audio quality, software crashes, erratic VU-meters, laughable vCase and a fugly design. No serious DJ has been using Gemini gear since the 90s, the last era where they had been (somewhat) decent. It's even worse than Behringer or DJ-Tech. Don't buy, AVOID. Get a Numark, Denon or Pioneer (ebay) instead.
