Gemini SDJ4000

Well, it is finally here, the SDJ4000 by Gemini.
I just received my unit two days ago, and here's a 15 minute video on stand alone mode.
I still have to explore the many features that this stand alone controller has to offer, but I'm loving every single aspect of it thus far.
I will do some follow up videos with this controller in MIDI mode, hopefully soon. it will be mapped for Virtual DJ and Traktor. By the way, I have my two MDJ1000's linked up to the SDJ, via a 5 port ethernet switch on this video.

If your speakers are RCA or External Line Return, you should be able to connect them.

If you have two mdj1000 or mdj900 linked up to the SDJ, that's how you're able to see all four channels

I'm using the MDJ1000 by Gemini, but you can also hook up any other cdj's to channels 2 & 4, you just won't be able to link them up, as those other units run on a different software. Meaning, whichever CDJ's you use, they have to run with it's own thumb drive. The only other options out in the market, aside from Gemini, are the Pioneer series of CDJ's and the Denon DJ SC6000. I would go for the Pioneer series, since they are the "Industry Standard" although they are mighty expensive.

Hola, tienes que prepar la Musica via Vcase, el cual es el programa Para analyzar musica de genini. De lo contrario, no podras organizar tu musica ya sea por bmp or key cuando connectes tu usb a la unidad.

Yes, it is fully mapped to VDJ. However, the screen will not display all of the required information. Only, and minor, setback.

Hola, é totalmente compatível com VDJ, basicamente é plug and play. Lo unico malo es de que no puedes vera la informacion en la pantalla de la consola. Funciona muito bem com VDJ sozinho, não é compatível com outros programas de DJ.

Personally, I'm in love with this unit. I have used it at many event's without a flaw. However, the four channels only work if you have additional CDJ's plugged in, or if you are using VDJ, which is the only software that can be used with it as a controller. It has so many ways to configure it and Taylor it to your needs, that if you don't do this first, you will think that the unit doesn't work. I'm happy with it, but due to the fact the the market is dominated by Pioneer, it's a lot easier for others dj's to plug and play to a pioneer unit, rather than having to re-analyze their tracks to be red by the SDJ4000. Bottom line, think about what you will be using it for, before making a decision.

I haven't had any issues with my unit, and I use it frequently. I would not swear by any brand, but Gemini products have worked for me just fine. Yes, it has everything you need not to mention the obvious Stand Alone feature of this unit.

Aqui te puedo contestar que vale la pena esta consola. Pero,depende mucho en que forma la vayas a usar ya que si la vas a usar en MIDI mode, solo funciona con Virtual DJ. Yo la uso principalmente en Stand Alone Mode, osea directamente con mi USB conectado. Es toda digital, asi que la puedes personalizar a tu preferencia. Tiene un sistema de proteccion de sonido para no prender la unidad y hacer play a una cancion y des el golpazo a las bocinas. Los Effectos son todos operables y muy buenos sin distorcion. Tienes que analyzar tu musica por medio de Vcase, de lo contrario no podras tocar tus playlist ya sea por BPM o valor harmonico. Toca las canciones MP3 sin problema alguno, pero no toca music pirateada lo que es bueno, pero malo para muchos. La unica parte que no me parece bien, es de que solo puedes tener una sola playlist por memoria, ya que si anades mas playlist, no puedes organizarlas en la consola por medio de BPM o llave harmonica. Osea, no solo te una una playlist pero si tienes mas de dos en tu memoria, al tratar de organizarlas, te dara tods las canciones MP3 en el memoria. Espero esto t ayude.

@@antomartino6846 la maggior parte di quelle tracce funzionano. dipende da come sono state caricate quelle tracce. se tutte le proprietà della traccia sono presenti, dovrebbe funzionare bene. Di solito ricevo tracce dai produttori su soundcloud e quelle tracce funzionano bene. sono gli strappi illegali che di solito non funzionano.

@@juansalvador5946 Pues eso es como preguntar con que carro llego mejor a mi trabajo, un Mercedez oh un Toyota. Si sbaes lo que estas haciendo, puedes tocar cualesquier genero de musica en cualesquier plataforma, sea la cual sea la marca. Haora, este controlador no es lo mismo que un Pioneer, pero no le pide nada. Es de muy buena calidad, y alatamente confiable. Es totalemente digital y lo puedes modificar a como a ti te funcione mejor e inclusive el sonido tienen tres opciones ya sea bajo - medio - alto. A mi me ha funcionada muy bien y no tengo queja alguna sobe este consola.

@@paulogaspar6119 I recently made a live session with this unit. About two weeks ago. You can use a laptop - via Virtual DJ with it, or use it as a stand alone unit. I prefer to use it in stand alone mode and record my sets via the second USB port. The only thing that I don't like is that the screen is not mapped to VDJ, so you don't get to see the full info on the unit screen when using it in MIDI mode.

Gemini is hot trash. They had been decent/okayish in the 90s but since then, they release one crappy copycat after another. This SDJ-4000 is plagued with massive quality + firmware bugs. AVOID‼

Gemini always has been sucks, even 30 years ago when they were a little competitive, I rather spend a little more and get a Denon or Pioneer, wish is actually what every good DJ [ for a good reason ] use in the market today , its like back in the days, you rather have a Technics 1200 mk2 or a Gemini turntable? think about it.

Oh my, you really bought this Gemini crap unit. Have fun with awful audio quality, software crashes, erratic VU-meters, laughable vCase and a fugly design. No serious DJ has been using Gemini gear since the 90s, the last era where they had been (somewhat) decent. It's even worse than Behringer or DJ-Tech. AVOID

Hey brutha hope you respond to this comment.but I’m looking at either the sdj4000 or the denon sc4 the only thing that is holding me from siding with Gemini is the jog wheels I own a set of mdj1000s and I’m sure we both can agree that they could feel a little lighter even with the weight knob on light I like to scratch and chop with my sr2 because of that my question is do the jog wheels on the sdj4000 feel as good or close to the pionieer sr2 @renehoyo

Hey what's up, Actually, I love the feel on my MDJ1000 jog wheels, but then again I don't scratch. The feel on the SDJ jog wheels is very similar to that of the MDJ's, and you cannot adjust the tension on them. However, they do feel a lot better than the Denon SC4 controller, and I would dare comparing the feel to that of the Pioneer stand alone controller.
