I’m the kind of geeky dork who was grinning like an idiot while Scar was in his own video getting nerdy and talking about how the Death Star has changed visually over the years. I love Star Wars. A lot. Maybe it’s not Gem’s thing, maybe she simply never had a friend/family member to introduce her to it growing up. Still hurt a bit to hear she didn’t know what a Death Star was.

Wow. Just the LOCATION of Gem's Ocean Shop gave me build ideas. Specifically, a shop where the floor is just *under* the surface of the water, and all bottom half, water logged slabs, so when you walk in you're walking in half a block of water, like the place is flooded, but in reality, it's built in a lake, with proper supports going to the lake floor. It's just that the supports are *one block* too short, so the store is just that little bit under the water.

@zachwillett5853 True, but given the general theme I'd love to see more aquatic stuff; water and a conduit allows for some really interesting verticality in a build compared to grounded designs, and provides challenging variety to convert land-based lighting and Redstone to an underwater environment. Plus I'm just a sucker for underwater bases and the like.

For those unaware, “sell space in an unfinished building, use the money to pay for construction” is a big part of how corporate real estate works IRL. And someone halfway through the process running out of money and declaring bankruptcy or vanishing, leaving everyone owning parts of a half-finished structure isn’t unheard of. Which, yes, is an insane way to run an industry. 🌟 CAPITALISM 🌟

I also just think it’s a very stupid way to finance construction.

My home city had this guy try and build a hotel in the main tourist area. First, he had to start over because the ground was unstable. Then, he built the parking garage and ran out of money. It's been sitting there, boarded up, for decades, collecting graffiti with its fading sign advertising what it was supposed to be. My best guess is he's hoping either the other hotels or the city get tired of the eyesore and buy it off him.

That's not capitalism. That _is_ what happened in China, though, with many of their unfinished cities. That's *corruption.* Capitalism (consumerism) is you saying "I want to buy a computer" and several people offer you a computer a different prices with different specs. Then you _choose_ which one you want to buy. You have both agreed on an exchange of goods and you both come out better for it. Consumerism (capitalism) is why people in "poverty" today have cell phones, which the rich didn't have even 50 years ago.

Turn the water column falling from the Shop's hand into a bubble elevator for people to get up to the shop. They can always jump off to get down, but it would be a really cool way to enter the shop: The hand is summoning the water up from the lake and into her hand, carrying Hermits with it if they want.

You could redo the base of the statue later, and incorporate some coral and sand. Make it seem like the statue's been lifted from the bottom of the ocean - and then put the coral shop inside of the "coral reef base"
