I wonder if its possible to recoat the inflatable fabric by mixing 100% clear silicone caulk with odorless mineral spirits, then brushing the mix onto the fabric to make it hold air better. There are videos on KZbin and online that use this method to water proof fabric and I have heard of people doing this to recoat nylon inflatable kites to make them waterproof again when they wear out. I have not seen anyone try it on a worn-out inflatable though so I am not sure if it would work.

Worth a try. So far, we don't really know of anything to remedy the problem, so that's definitely worth looking into.

@@INFLA Yeah, I saw a video where this coating method was used on a tarp that was outside for two years and the coating seemed to stay on really well. I wish someone would try this on an inflatable that no longer has its coating to see if this actually worked and looked better than flex seal or those other sprays.
