I have the 1998 edition, I measured voltage and the motor gets voltage, but the motor itself wont move :(

I have the 1998 model that I got from my mom. I could not find the dc adapter so I found one around my house that I thought might work. I plugged it in and it’s not working. I don’t think there are batteries to this so any ideas of what I could do to fix this? Maybe i don’t have the correct ac adapter possibly?

These wont work with just any adapter, the wires in these are reversed so if you want it to work with another adapter you have to reverse the wires in the adapter and you have to make sure it's nit any higher then 6v
