Tv show aside, black mirrors were used for scrying back in the day. Mirrors were also thought of as portals (it's why we covered them when someone died, in case they went through the wrong one and became trapped or in case, while the veil in the house was full of 'thinning' energy because a soul was leaving, something else came through)

Such an Interesting reading, regarding the Black Mirror, the only things I could find were. 1. It is or can be used in Magic rituals an Optical device or a symbol of the complex relationship with Technology and Humanity. 2. The Claude glass was a small black, convex mirror used by artists and spectators to reflect views . It was used in the 18th century and has be studied for it's relationship to opacity, transparency, and imagination. I hope that helps in some way.

Interesting you mention black mirrors. I’ve just read a book which mentioned how black mirrors were used to try and see the faces of the dead. The theory is if you gaze into the black mirror your features will distort and take on the appearance of a spirit/ghost. No idea what that’s got to do with my reading though 😂 but thanks 🙏🏻
