Their personality, demeanor and energy level mesh together very naturally, because Big Yellow is all excited and sincere and talkative and Jimothy sorta sits back and reacts with their typical reserved and dry humor, while asking insightful questions that get Big Yellow all enthusiastic again. The crossover of my dreams! I live in a really lose-lose situation where I’m not safe to be _out,_ but I’m physically transitioned enough that I can’t pretend to be cis anymore…and I’ve lost access to treatment so where my voice and appearance are now is the way they’re gonna stay forever. I do my best to stealth it (it doesn’t always work) and when anyone sees through it, that person or the place I met them is just out of my life forever. I don’t have any sort of ‘community’ because of disability, or any friends or family. I’m a new pokemon fan so I don’t understand most of the videos I watch, but I LOVE Yellow’s content. They explain things so well that even I feel included, and it’s incredible to see another non cis person just _exist._ The comments always seem super accepting and positive, and for a few minutes (or over an hour!) I can really just feel like being alive and trans is allowed. I haven’t found that anywhere else online yet, or anywhere. Please don’t let this be the last time Yellow visits the channel!

Monster Sanctuary comes close to the game you're describing. It's a metroidvania not a roguelite but it is very replayable and has options for nuzlocke (permadeath optional) and randomizer. The selling point of the game is the in depth mechanics and crazy synergies you can create with your team

Jim Cool and Big Yellow are probably my fav pokemon creators. Both have so much passion for their respective main metagames that I could listen and watch them play it for hours. 36:58 I would personally say that the genocide route in undertale elevates the game despite it being not fun, if you start murdering absolutely everyone despite the game begging you not to, the entire game goes into self-preservation mode and intentionally makes itself as boring as physically possible just to make you quit the game and stop killing everyone, as if the world itself was conscious of what you were doing and wanted to stop you by any means necessary, it's some genuinely incredible storytelling through gameplay and the genocide route is only as absolutely heartwrenching as it is to play specifically because it's actively unfun

two of my favorite competitive pokemon tubers talking for an hour and a half? is this a dream come true? Edit: about wanting to make your own poke-like game, you can steal this concept from me if it interests you since I have no interest in designing a game, but I had the idea of a creature collector than had a smaller type pool than pokemon, but every creature was like eevee in that you could evolve them into any type in the game, and I feel like that would add a lot of strategy to team building, like for example, do you want to evolve your speedy attacker into a fire or water type, and would that work well if you evolve your bulky support into a grass type, and then it can get even more complicated if you add dual types and movepools in as well, idk it's just something I came up with when I noticed poke-likes tended to not change the evolution mechanic too much when I think putting your own spin on evolution would really help it stand out from standard pokemon
